मैं 2013 में मोदी जी के “गाँव” वाडनगर गई थी और पूरा दिन वहाँ बिताया, उनके पड़ोसी घरों से बातचीत की, उनके school टीचर से भी इंटरव्यू लिया।

जहां तक मुझे याद है, मोदी जी के मोहल्ले में मुझे एक भी मुसलमान घर नहीं दिखा, एक भी बुर्के वाली महिला नहीं दिखी।

Muslims have a proven track record of expanding . They drive out non Muslims from areas they inhabit. They don’t believe in leaving areas they inhabited.

If during Modi ji’s childhood, his mohalla had a large presence of Muslims, where did they vanish when I went to Vadnagar in 2013?

Even as per the latest population census Vadnagar has about 7 percent Muslim population and 92 percent Hindu population.

During Modi ji’s childhood, Muslims, if any, would have constituted a minuscule population of Vadnagar.

Even in 2013, the area where Modi ji’s family was supposed to have lived once, showed no VISIBLE signs of Muslim presence!

I took numerous photographs of that mohalla.

वहाँ जाने का सबब भी यूँ बना कि मोदी जी ने मुझे बताया था कि उनके गाँव में एक मशहूर बौद्ध monastery थी और उन्होंने CM ki हैसियत से उसकी excavation का काम करवाया था क्योंकि वह Vadnagar की बौद्ध पहचान को पुनर स्थापित करना चाहते थे।

But the excavated site was in a pathetic condition. I even sent a report on its neglect to Modi ji with a view to urging him to fix things fast or else, like Kalibangan, that excavated site would soon vanish or become a garbage dump, which it had started becoming!

That was my one and only visit to Vadnagar. Cant’ say if Modi ji took care of the Bauddh Monastery ruins.

Wish Modi ji’s brothers and sisters had the freedom to talk!
