Someone just open-sourced a desktop app that generates 3D models from images and runs 100% locally.
It's called Modly. Drop in an image, it generates a fully textured 3D mesh on your own GPU. No cloud.
→ Photo to 3D mesh in seconds
→ Runs 100% locally on your GPU
→ Pluggable AI model extensions
→ Windows + Linux
while building the pipeline for my startup, I’ve been training a lot of diffusion models for animation stuff.
one thing I keep noticing is how easy it has become to build small tools for your own problems now. a lot of things that used to be annoying workflows can honestly just be solved over a weekend.
for me it was dataset prep.
kept wasting time fixing frame counts for LTX, resizing clips, removing broken samples, captioning datasets, checking if videos matched training constraints, etc.
so I built a small local tool for myself to handle it and decided to open source it in case it’s useful to others too.
supports LTX and WAN for now.

do you still follow or engage with a creator once you know their posts are fully automated with ai
been seeing more people openly say they’ve automated everything and idk it just feels a bit different
like earlier it felt more personal now it feels a bit distant
do you still stick around ?
I don't understand why people don't use Claude for video editing.
I edited 4 videos in 1 day. All of them with Claude as my assistant.
Here are 9 prompts that turned wasted hours into a strategy:
(Save for later.)
what’s actually been working for you as a marketing channel lately?
linkedin just doesn’t click for me. i’ll post something, it gets nice comments, people say good things… but it never really turns into users or signups. feels good for a moment but nothing moves.
reddit is the opposite. people will straight up roast it 💀 but somehow that’s where i actually get users. same with discord, still figuring it out but feels more real. curious what’s working for you guys
launched spriteloop. 100 users in 3 days.
no launch post.
just went into competitors’ comments from another account.
and pointed out what they’re missing
felt weird doing it
worked way better than making a launch post
so yeah… doing more of that now
7 months into open source.
at the start i was just writing whatever worked.
messy code, no structure nothing.
just kept building and putting it out.
somewhere along the way that changed.
when people can actually see your code you start caring a bit more.
one small thing at a time it gets better.
built a few tools during this.
deepdoc just crossed 250⭐ on github.
didn’t expect that at all.
nice seeing people actually use it.

back on twitter after a while.
a lot changed. built a lot, failed a lot.
did internships, learned more than expected.
got stories to share now.
excited to be back.
It would have been so good if I could write a project idea in my terminal with dev frameworks or services I need and I get my template project setup within seconds to start with.
I am planning on releasing some cool open source projects. Stay tuned guys. God I love to be back on twitter after procrastinating a lot with my internships.
