We had to do a lot of media work to promote deals. One day I asked our Global Head of Communications why the media was so gentle with us.
He laughed:
“Because we’re one of their biggest advertisers.”
That explains a lot of the media’s treatment of Elon.
Tesla is so successful, its ad spend is effectively zero, or ~0.01% of the $40 billion global auto advertising market.
No ad dollars = no protection.
No one knows this better than Big Pharma.
They don't make confusing and enigmatic ads to sell you product; they make the ads to control the media.
Last week charges were filed in the case centered around the brutal beheading of Chandra Nagamallaiah. It is surprising to hear that Dallas County prosecutors will not seek the death penalty for this horrific murder of a father, in front of his child and wife. We trust this stance does not indicate that the DA office is devaluing the horrific nature of the crime.
Nagamallaiah, a hard-working small business owner and American Hindu who had immigrated from India, was violently attacked with a machete by Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, over a minor dispute regarding a washing machine. The killer rained blow after blow, ignoring the terrified screams from Nagamallaiah’s family. The whole episode, captured on CCTV was so gruesome that several platforms had to remove it.
Prior to that fateful day in September 2025, the killer, Cobos-Martinez, already had a criminal record in Florida, California and Texas, that included theft, carjacking and violent assault. The community is shaken by this crime and demands the strongest possible action to ensure justice for his family.
We respect the DA in his decision regarding the death penalty. But given the heinous nature of the crime, at the very least, if convicted, the perpetrator should get life in prison without the possibility of parole.

His name was Dr. Rangaswamy Srinivasan.
in 1929, Srinivasan earned his bachelor's & master's degrees from the University of Madras before traveling to the United States for his doctorate at the University of Southern California. By 1961, he joined the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York. While most IBM scientists were focused on silicon microchips & computer hardware, Srinivasan was obsessed with photochemistry: how high-energy light interacts with organic molecules and synthetic polymers.
In 1981, IBM acquired a new toy for its physics lab: an UV Excimer laser. At the time, conventional wisdom in medicine stated that firing a laser at living biological tissue was a terrible idea. Lasers generate intense thermal heat; hitting human skin/organs with 1 would simply incinerate, char & burn the tissue like a blowtorch.
Srinivasan believed UV light behaved differently. He hypothesized that at short UV wavelengths (193 nm), the light was breaking molecular bonds directly. He just needed a piece of organic tissue to prove it.P
On Nov 27, 1981, during the American Thanksgiving holiday, while the IBM labs were quiet & empty, Srinivasan brought his leftover Thanksgiving turkey dinner into work. Taking a piece of leftover turkey cartilage from his lunch container, he placed it under the Excimer laser & fired a brief sequence of 193 nm UV pulses.
When he looked under the high-powered microscope, he saw something that left him speechless.The laser had not burned the turkey meat. There were no charred edges, no heat damage & no melting. Instead, the UV laser had cleanly sliced through the cartilage with microscopic, surgical precision, evaporating sub-micron layers of organic tissue instantaneously.
Srinivasan named this phenomenon Ablative Photodecomposition (APD). Because the UV light pulses broke molecular bonds in tiny fractions of a sec, the organic matter evaporated before thermal heat had time to spread to the adjacent cells. It was the ultimate "cold knife."
Recognizing the earth-shattering medical potential, Srinivasan teamed up with IBM colleagues Bodil Braren & James J. Wynne, alongside New York ophthalmologist Dr. Stephen Trokel. Together, they applied Ablative Photodecomposition to the human cornea, proving that an Excimer laser could precisely reshape the curve of the human eye to correct myopia (nearsightedness) w/o damaging the delicate ocular structures beneath.
That single experiment on a piece of Thanksgiving turkey gave birth to modern refractive eye surgery, including PRK & LASIK.
The global scientific community showered Srinivasan with accolades: In 2002, he was inducted into the US National Inventors Hall of Fame, joining legends like Thomas Edison & Nikola Tesla. In 2013, US President Barack Obama awarded Dr. Rangaswamy Srinivasan the National Medal of Technology & Innovation at the White House: the highest honor for technological achievement in the United States.
He holds 21 US patents, with his papers cited 1000x across laser physics, chemistry & ophthalmology literature.Y et, back home in India, where 10s of 1000s of people undergo LASIK every month, his name is practically nonexistent in school curricula/public memory/popular culture.
The next time you watch a friend throw away their thick glasses after a 10 minute laser procedure, remember the Indian chemist who brought his Thanksgiving dinner into a lab in 1981. He was not an eye surgeon, but he gave 40M people the gift of sight, 1 microscopic beam of light at a time.
If you walk into the Secretariat of Public Education in Mexico City & look up at the massive, world-famous frescoes painted by Diego Rivera, you will see something that should make every Indian’s jaw drop.
Among the painted Mexican revolutionaries, farmers & national heroes sits an Indian man with intense eyes, sitting at a long wooden table, breaking bread with poor peasants.
He is not a diplomat. He is not a movie star. He was a wanted fugitive from Maharashtra whom the British Empire spent decades trying to hunt down & the man who quietly revolutionized global agriculture before the world even knew what the "Green Revolution" was.
His name was Pandurang Sadashiv Khankhoje.
Born in 1884 in Wardha, Maharashtra, Khankhoje grew up on stories of the 1857 uprising. While other kids played games, young Pandurang spent his teens founding secret societies & training in martial arts. Inspired by Lokmanya Tilak, he reached a radical conclusion early in life: To defeat an empire, you need military training & global allies.
In 1906, penniless & under British surveillance, he fled India on a ship. He worked his way through Japan & San Francisco, eventually enrolling at the Mount Tamalpais Military Academy in California while earning a degree in agriculture at Oregon State University.
In Oregon, he co-founded the Ghadar Party, the legendary international movement aimed at overthrowing British rule in India through armed revolt.
During World War I, Khankhoje traveled across Europe & the Middle East, attempting to recruit Indian soldiers in the British Indian Army to turn their guns against their colonizers. But the revolt failed. British intelligence put a massive price on his head. He could not go back to India. He could not stay in the West. He was a man w/o a country.
Exiled & on the run, Khankhoje slipped across the border into Mexico in the 1920s. Mexico was rebuilding after its own bloody revolution & its rural population was dying of starvation & drought.
Khankhoje realized something profound: An empire does not just conquer with guns; it conquers through hunger. If you want a nation to be truly free, you have to feed its people.
Appointed as a prof at the National School of Agriculture in Texcoco, he threw himself into plant genetics. Working under harsh conditions with limited funding, he did something extraordinary:
- Taming the Wild Corn: He crossbred wild grass (teosinte) with domestic maize, creating high-yielding, drought-resistant hybrid corn that produced multiple ears per plant instead of just 1.
- Frost-Proof Wheat: He developed new strains of high-yield wheat capable of surviving extreme Mexican weather & blights.
- Schools for the Poor: He did not lock his research in academic journals. He founded the Escuelas Libres de Agricultura (Free Agricultural Schools), teaching impoverished Mexican farmers hands-on genetics, soil conservation & yield optimization.
His high-yield crops transformed Mexican farming. Decades later, when American scientist Norman Borlaug came to Mexico & developed the high-yield dwarf wheat that kicked off the global Green Revolution, he built directly upon the foundation of plant genetics laid by Pandurang Khankhoje.
In 1947, India finally won its independence. The British were gone.
Now an elderly scientist globally celebrated across Latin America, Pandurang Khankhoje packed his bags & came home to Nagpur, eager to offer his life's work to build the agricultural backbone of a newborn India.
The bureaucracy of newly independent India did not know what to do with him. His radical revolutionary past frightened bureaucrats; his foreign academic achievements were ignored. He was given no major agricultural policy role, no national honors & no platform :((
When he passed away in Nagpur in 1967, his passing barely made a ripple in the local newspapers. His neighbors knew him simply as a quiet, retired old man who used to live abroad.
Today, if you ask an Indian agricultural student who fathered modern crop hybridization, they will quote Western scientists. Almost no 1 in Maharashtra/Delhi knows the name Pandurang Khankhoje.
But 1000s of KMs away in Mexico City, inside the halls of govt, his face remains painted on the wall, immortalized by Diego Rivera as a symbol of unity, knowledge, and freedom.
He was erased from the history books of the country he fought to liberate, but the soil of Mexico still remembers the Indian ghost who taught them how to feed a nation.
Christopher Nolan's vandalism and desecration of the Greek epic, Odyssey, serves as an unfortunate but apt reminder of the adage, 'What Goes Around Comes Around'.
For decades a billion Hindus were told and taught that it was the right and tradition of academic freedom to interpret Hindu texts, even if those interpretations were distortions and gross misrepresentations that would have been rightly called out for their extreme racism in any other context.
• Romila Thapar stating that Ashoka preceded Yudhishthira was the acme of scholarship, not garbage three levels below WhatsApp level 'facts'.
• Wendy Doniger calling Krishna a bloodthirsty and false god was academic freedom and not execrable racism.
• Sheldon Pollock infamously writing that 'Brahminism' was the progenitor of Nazism was supposedly groundbreaking research.
• Arshia Sattar mistranslating 'trivarga' as 'the three upper castes' was kosher because she was part of the in-club.
• Diana Eck claiming that no expert believed that any temple had ever existed at the site of the Babri Masjid was gospel, despite overwhelming evidence available even at that time that such an assertion was a complete lie.
• Audrey Truschke calling Rama a 'pig' was her God-given academic right.
The right to desecrate the holy and sacred texts of a civilization, a religion, a people is fundamental to supremacism. In the case of Indology, it didn't stop there. Denialism was Stage 2. Elimination is Stage 3.
Nolan believes he has the right to 'interpret' because he knows more.
Lacking the wisdom or the empathy to understand a millenia old text, he takes it upon himself to distort it, desecrating it to further his propaganda and warped understanding of how society should function.
When western 'scholars' did that to Hindu texts for decades, even centuries, it was all for the Hindus' own good, for it was 'academic freedom'. After all, what did the unlettered, uncivilized, dark-skinned, colonized Hindu know?
Now that one of their own has done it to perhaps the greatest western epic, the irony is inescapable.
The chickens have come home to roost.
Or, as Kabir said centuries ago, 'boye beej babool ke, amiya kahaan se hoye'.
Is there an example of a case where the criminal is Hindu male & courts gave a different judgement?
Also in these cases where the criminal is almost always from special community, Hindus need to look for solutions outside the judiciary. Hindus need private militia for rescue, rehab, & vigilante justice.

In this case, she had not reached Class 10. Birth certificate was not available as few get it made anyway. Girl's father produced her Transfer Certificate from a pervious school. It said she was born in 1990 and hence 14 years
Sessions court used this as basis for convicting Qausim for kidnapping (IPC 363), kidnapping for compelling marriage (IPC 366) and rape (IPC 376)
But now, Delhi high court has acquitted him of all charges
High court said the entire case rested on the age of the girl
The high court judge rejected TC as valid age of proof and said they would only consider bone test results
Results said she was between 14 and 16 years (I don't know when exactly was the bone test conducted)
Court said after taking margin of error, she should be considered 18! (see the attachment)
(POCSO was enforced much later in 2012, so it was not invoked)
While delivering the verdict last month, the judge, Vimal Kumar Yadav, went on to remark that “fragmented, stratified and deeply divided Indian society..left no room practically for the young lovers to choose their partners”
Now, this is what will happen if age of consent is indeed lowered to 16:
- Class 10 marksheet won't be available for age proof
- Courts will ask for bone tests.
- With margin of error, 13-14-year-old will be routinely declared 16 years
This is how lowering age of consent will make all girls after Class 6 vulnerable to consequences-free sexual grooming

In May 2018, a girl named Anuradha went missing. Like every day, she had left for school in morning but did not return
Her parents waited till 6 pm, then went to police (Nagina Police Station in UP’s Bijnor)
Police assured they would find her. Her father Dayanand did not know that police should have filed an FIR. Finally, after a month when the case reached an NGO, the police was forced to file an FIR on 1 June 2018
Suspect was booked under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping a woman to compel marriage)
Police found one Danish Hussain had taken the girl. They added the name to case diary. Dayanand said he had heard this name for the first time
Dayanand called up Danish after taking number from police; The latter said ‘take your girl if you can’
Within two days, Danish filed a writ petition in Allahabad High Court asking the FIR against him to be quashed
He made Anuradha, who was now Nisha Naz, as co-petitioner
Petition said Anuradha was a major and the girl’s father was harassing them
Danish produced her Aadhaar card and nikahnama as proof, which showed her as 19
Dayanand, on the other hand, produced her Class 10 certificate - issued by UP education board - which showed her age as 17 (minor)
Although Class 10 Board certificate is considered to be the most valid proof of age as per law, sessions court still ordered for a bone test and ordered a stay on Danish’s arrest till next hearing with bone test results
The girl never showed up for the bone test
The father soon learnt that she was pregnant. He gave up on the case and stopped going for hearings
In 2020, during the lockdown, the girl returned. She had suffered a miscarriage again. She cited threat from Danish, fearing he would kill her
After some months, both parties struck a compromise
The couple went to court and submitted an affidavit that they were separating because Danish had given Nisha Naz triple talaq two months earlier and she did not wish to contest it.
Danish was never booked for POCSO. He has never been arrested
Now, if they lower age of consent, Class 10 certificate will not even be available to determine age of the child. Court will order bone tests in all cases. That test allows margin of 2-3 years, which is usually kept in favour of the adult party

India did not ban cannabis. America made them do it.
For centuries it was part of Ayurveda, Hindu rituals, and daily life as bhang.
Then the US pushed the 1961 UN treaty and the War on Drugs. Rajiv Gandhi’s government gave in during 1985 with the NDPS Act, turning a healing plant into a crime.
The UK faced the same pressure through the 1925 Geneva Convention. Meanwhile the British had spent decades profiting from the opium trade, growing poppies in India and forcing it onto China in the 19th century, which led to the Opium Wars.
At the same time as forcing the world to ban cannabis, the US was quietly forcing opium production in Afghanistan during the 1980s Soviet war. They encouraged farmers to grow poppies for the mujahideen instead of food for themselves.
Now the West is legalising medical cannabis and exploring psychedelics, while India still will not let people grow it at home for medicine.
The Delhi High Court gave the government until this month to fix it. Time to bring back what was always rooted in our cultural medicine.

Why did POTUS suddenly pivot from "unconditional surrender" to a deal at any cost in Iran?
TL/DR it's the interceptors, stupid.
- it takes Lockheed >two years and $5-15m to make a missile interceptor
- i.e., $10k drones take a $5m missile to defeat
- our forecast was that a) the population was going to rebel and b) we’d quickly take out the missile launchers
- But: Iran murdered 50k protesting citizens before our forces were in place; we didn’t defeat the launch capability as fast as expected
- we were facing down dwindling interceptor supplies
- 50% of patriots are gone and 80% of Thaad interceptors are gone. They cannot be replaced in a relevant timeframe
- if we actually ran out of defenses, US and allies in the region would be slaughtered— and the US would be facing a historic defeat
- we're already rationing interceptors, which is why our soldiers died in Jordan last night and why there are no more Patriots in Ukraine.
- in this context we try to make any deal you can — regardless of cost. Pretend it’s about gas prices if we must.
So we are losing this war. Badly. And what really lost the war was the fucked up defense supply chain that can’t make munitions in a relevant cost or timeframe — and we have no technology that defeats the enemy in an economically sustainable way.
This is why advanced anti drone and advanced missile defense is so critical. Personally I am bullish on directed energy intercept, particularly space-based directed energy.
Regardless of specific technology, we must be able to build interceptors faster and cheaper than any enemy can build offensive weapons.

If we look at ancient water management (built around ~1 century BCE), most textbooks default to Roman aqueducts. But the engineering structure excavated at Śṛṅgiverapura (near Prayagraj, UP) proves that ancient Indian engineers understood advanced fluid mechanics, specifically sedimentation kinetics & the continuity eqn, long before modern civil engineering textbooks were written.
Historically, Śṛṅgiverapura was the ancient capital of the Nishada Kingdom & is best known as the sacred site where Rama, Sita & Lakshmana crossed the river Ganga during their 14 yr exile.
The problem they faced was taking highly turbulent, silt-heavy floodwater directly from the Ganga river during the monsoons & converting it into crystal clear, safe water for a massive urban tank network.
If we just pipe river water directly into a tank, the heavy silt settles at the bottom, choking the reservoir within a couple of seasons. The Śṛṅgiverapura engineers built a sequential 3 stage hydraulic filtration machine:
- The Velocity Drop Chamber: The 1st tank was a massive, deep structure designed for 1 function: reducing the water's kinetic energy. Water rushed in through a broad canal. As the space opened up inside the tank, the forward velocity of the water dropped instantly ~zero. Because of basic gravitational settling laws, the heavy sand & thick mud collapsed straight to the bottom of this 1st chamber.
- The Cascading Weir System: To move the water to the 2nd tank, they did not draw from the bottom. They built a stepped-up stone weir at the top exit. Only the clean, skimmed top layer of water spilled over the lip into the second reservoir, leaving the dense silt trapped in the 1st chamber.
- The Subterranean Conduit Locks: By the time the water reached the final storage tanks, it was completely clear. They connected these final tanks using subterranean terracotta pipe networks that utilized natural pressure gradients to keep the water circulating, preventing stagnation & bacterial blooms w/o needing manual agitation.
This was a calculated, multi-stage filtration plant built with precise stone geometry, showing a deep structural grasp of how water moves, slows down & cleans itself under the laws of physics.

And the fact that he is said to have been the richest man in history, thanks in part to his massive slave-owning society, is a detail somehow that teachers rarely ever teach.
But it isn’t just our schools. It’s our general culture too. Take your kids to a museum or an art gallery in any Western country, and you’ll find the same narrative.
As an example, when learning about aviation in London’s Science Museum and the extraordinary feat that is man making massive machines move in the sky, a write-up on the wall explains that women and Black people were historically barred from aviation schools and the military. Similarly, James Watt, the man who invented the steam engine and is considered the founder of the Industrial Revolution, has a write-up on the wall explaining that his early career involved slave trafficking, with a bonus analysis of the whole of Britain’s complicity in the slave trade.
They flatten the entire human story and all of its complexities into the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, leaving young people unable to see the world in any other terms.”
We have to end the mass indoctrination
When I first came to India, the space industry was closed to private players.
The most well-known "startup" at that time was TeamIndus. Skyroot didn't exist.
A year later, in 2018, Skyroot was founded. Private companies in India couldn't launch rockets yet, but Pawan and Bharath forged ahead regardless, optimistic that liberalisation would happen someday.
Then, in 2020, it did. Indian companies were finally free to compete with American, Russian, European, and Chinese startups. They could build their own launch vehicles. And satellites. At an undisclosed location in the United States, Elon swallowed hard.
I was publishing videos about Indian companies on YouTube at this point. I remember thinking, "Making content about these spacetech developments is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Now, ~6 years later, Skyroot has gifted India with the biggest white pill of all time. While the world watched, a team of ~1,000+ Indian optimists (with an average age of 28) flawlessly executed an orbital rocket launch.
No private space company IN THE WORLD has ever done this on their first try. As I write this, I have goosebumps. I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to witness this firsthand. I also feel inspired by the resilience, ingenuity, and wherewithal of the entire Skyroot team.
The next chapter of India's space journey has officially begun.
