@FAmmiranteTFJ Has not been a starter the whole tournament because of a previous injury, so he is more effective coming off the bench. Was not subbed on during the game because he was not needed because of the flow of the game.
@hansidisciple You left out 2 more major decisions:
1. Copa America Final 2015: Yellow Card on Medel for a kick on Messi's stomach, could have easily been red.
2. Copa America Final 2016: Red Card for Marcos Rojo after a challenge on Vidal which was not even a foul
@FAmmiranteTFJ VAR always reviews goals in which the attack started from a potential foul, regardless of which part of the field the potential foul occurred. If VAR refs consider it could be a foul, they will then alert the main ref so he can go check and make the final decision.
@JKBOGEN Yeah clearly you are not a fan of soccer. Let me explain to you in NFL terms. Suppose Jamarr Chase’s suspension last season for spitting on an opponent would make him miss a playoff game. Then Trump calls Goodell and his suspension is lifted, Trump then thanks Goodell. Come on.
It’s great to have new fans of the sport, everyone is welcome but please have the humility to accept that you have no idea what you’re talking about and as a result, you shouldn’t have strong opinions about anything. Everyone with a functioning brain who has been watching football for more than 2 weeks understands the problem here and the reputational damage this is doing to both FIFA and US Soccer. So many people have worked so hard over the years to establish the US’s reputation in the sport and to be respected by the international football community, this does irreparable harm to that. I don’t care if you think it is a red or not, those decisions happen in football every week. Laurent Blanc missed a World Cup final due to a red card in the semi final which was clearly simulation but he had to accept it. Infantino needs to resign tonight, his consent to govern comes from all of us, he is a total liability.
@benbbaldwin The main discussion is still whether the foul should or should not have been a red card. Antony's foul should not have been red, while Balogun's was correctly sanctioned a red. That makes it entirely different.
@ellencarmichael You were NOT wronged. Actually the red card was correctly given. This is the wrong analysis. The right analysis is that you DO NOT understand the rules, and you now want to change the rules towards your own benefit because you feel you were wronged.
@Matty_KCSN Not much he can do honestly. Only try to react quickly and pull his foot up and prevent himself from stepping too hard on opponent. Just very unfortunate for him the way he landed on opponent’s ankle because that made the challenge riskier and a red card.
Elver Galarga. #NBAenPrime
