@JbeeKnowsBall@ProdByWay_@MartienBall You just showed a screenshot of him quoting “I’m a striker, but I love playing on the left”, which I’ll translate for you because you might not get it…his preferred position is off the left. I rest my case 🫡
@JbeeKnowsBall@ProdByWay_@MartienBall That’s fair, injuries played a huge part in him becoming ineffective, but early Martial was special, where he played LW with Rooney or Ibra up front. Then Ole favoured Rashford on the left and moved Martial to ST, just like Cunha now. He was great at ST but was clearly a LW
@JbeeKnowsBall@ProdByWay_@MartienBall What’s unhealthy is your clear revisionism. You forget the times fans would complain about Martial being used as a striker, and the insane level of criticism he got in games for being ineffective. Yes, he got 20 goals that season, but name another season where he did it again…
@ProdByWay_@MartienBall Martial was intelligent, but we all know that his best performances were off the left and should have been given priority in his favoured position. Rashford performed fantastic on the left, but was too inconsistent. We needed a proper ST, and Martial and Rashy to share the left
@markgoldbridge You can’t look at this situation from afar and simply blame the club, that’s too easy. Some players think they deserve it all so early, all because we see people like Lamine Yamal winning a World Cup at 18. He clearly needs the right guidance in this crucial point in life
@LanceTaylorMCR1@StretfordPaddck@JayMotty I agree, this club breeds a culture where players, no matter the age apparently, feel entitled to be given opportunities that they’ve not yet earned. I hope he becomes what we think he can, and at United, but this bs is as much on the player and his entourage as it is on the club
@LanceTaylorMCR1@StretfordPaddck@JayMotty Players who stay and develop at their clubs around that age group tend to have more success compared to those who leave so early, especially when you’re already at one of the biggest clubs. It will be interesting to see how his career unfolds compared to someone like Max Dowman
@OmonibekeP26371@StretfordPaddck@JayMotty He’s a terrible example, because he also decided to leave Arsenal instead of staying and developing. The point isn’t to say that leaving Man Utd is a mistake, the whole point is that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Not every wonderkid can be like Lamine Yamal
🚨🔴 OFFICIAL: Andrey Santos, new Man United player on £48m plus £2m deal from Chelsea.
“Since when I was young, I've dreamed of this moment. The history, the responsibility that comes with this badge, that's why I'm here”.
“I will put my name in history of this big club”.
@lovinglifelawsy@AdamJSmithy They definitely shouldn’t have paid 85m, we did it with Antony and regretted it 2 years later. It’s good to see United have learned their lesson. Fernandes is a great player, but still needs to prove he’s worth that amount. Utd need players who have already proven themselves
