Nerd friends, we're doing our best to take pictures at all 19 District meets this Wednesday and Thursday.

We may only be missing one: Ogallala on Wednesday. Teams participating include Bridgeport, Broken Bow, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Minden, Mitchell, Sidney and @OGIndians . What are the chances that a talented parent from one of those schools has a professional camera/lens combo and would be willing to share their talents with our 19,000 Nerd followers?

@Amie_Just 20 minutes to get two waters, no vendors in the stadium means people going in and out way more than normal, no separate line for verifying id’s made lines move even slower. 20+ year as a season ticket holder. It was a disaster. Please bring back vendors for water/pop.

@ShoemakerNick @LouieDN Thank you for serving on your local school board! I serve on a school board in Nebraska. 82% of our budget goes to salaries/benefits. We do our best to be frugal with taxpayer dollars while still providing competitive salaries for teacher and taking care of our facilities.

@Coach_Devaney We spent more on food and drinks because we could use our card and didn’t have to carry cash. I would love to see an app where each seller had a number and you could pay in the app. It would save the hassle of sending the machine and/or cards back and forth.

I’ve coached high school football for 30 years and have had ZERO parent drama…and I mean zero.

How??

I established a simple rule day 1 of my coaching career. DURING the season, I will not talk to parents about their son’s playing time, position or the plays that are called.

AFTER or BEFORE the season I’m happy to sit down and talk football.

It’s the athletes job to talk to his coach about those things. Ask questions, gain an understanding. Learn how to communicate!

If you can build trust with your athletes, create space for parent conversations outside the season, the stress and pressure of the season won’t be ruined by some parent who thinks they know better than you.
