Another year of Pointer Baseball Camp has come & gone. We are so thankful for all of the support from our surrounding communities for our baseball program. We had 190 kids register for camp this year! Although some couldn’t make it bc of the weather we still had a great turnout!
Pointer Baseball Camp has unfortunately been postponed.
We will try to make it up as early next week as possible. Be on the lookout for the makeup dates.
We have over 180 kids signed up & look forward to having the best camp yet!
Too much machine is destroying swing variability. To hit high level pitching you have to have feel for the barrel and be able to adjust your path. Machine makes you a pinball flipper. #JGTBT
Ive now had 3 former Major League Baseball players that are friends of our family tell me a few nuggets regarding my son and his baseball endeavors:
1. Stop with “lessons”. “Stop letting coaches validate themselves by finding something to change.”
2. Let him hit, hit, hit.
3. Stop hitting off machines. They aren’t realistic. Tee, flips, BP. That’s it.
4. Let the athlete be an athlete.
Middle America families stuck in the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time that is travel baseball.
Baseball needs Legion Ball played at high school fields in t-shirts and gray pants more than ever right now.
Players: You want the bat to feel like a toothpick, increase bat speed, & have more barrel control? Crush your forearms!
Find any way to blow them up every day. Rice bucket, dumbbells, reverse curls, farmers walks, forearm turns, plate holds, etc. You can hit forearms, core, & calves every day! Do it!
The strong will survive! 💪🏻🏋♂️😤
Every player on the planet needs to hear this — over and over again:
Remove all the “stuff” — results, expectations, distractions — and just compete.
Compete. Compete. Compete.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to becoming the ultimate competitor. Breathe. Center your thoughts. Lay it on the line and compete.
Here’s how I help hitters build REAL confidence in baseball:
I call it the B.E.A.R. Method.
B — Belief
Ted Williams used to stand in the mirror and tell himself:
“I’m the greatest hitter in the world.”
Confidence starts with belief.
E — Evoke Emotion
You can’t say:
“I’m confident.”
…while saying it with fear and doubt.
You have to say it like you mean it.
Your words influence your emotions.
A — Action
When belief and emotion change…
your actions change.
You train harder.
Swing freer.
Compete better.
And here’s the important part:
You start creating REAL evidence.
Harder contact.
Better swings.
More barrels.
Better at-bats.
R — Results
Results strengthen belief.
That’s how confidence becomes real.
I call it the Confidence Flywheel.
