“Life is really about how we respond to challenges.”
After a spinal cord injury during a college football game in 2015, Devon Gales began an extraordinary journey of healing and perseverance.
At Piedmont, Devon received expert trauma care and compassionate support during the most critical stage of his recovery.
With determination and the support of his family, care teams and community, he continued working toward goals that once seemed impossible. Today, he teaches part-time at an elementary school and has earned his degree in Communications from the University of Georgia.
His story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when resilience meets expert care, support and hope.

@ProsecutorsPod Is that with or without time served? At this point, why not just give him home confinement? But only if he can change coasts and homes with 24hr notice and may only fly on a private jet- don’t want to disrupt his disgusting life any more than necessary, right? #notcoolNYC
@ChasingPaper89 It’s disgusting and shows how stupid the American public has become that Diddy’s actions were found to be acceptable. I wonder what would have been the verdict if this had been state court for dv? I’m terribly saddened by today’s verdict.
@karenreadai Right??? I was like, “wait, hold up”. I thought they never went in the house? I’m not saying they did anything, but there is still some shady shit around this investigation.
@woodcockkay1 Tears of joy for you and your sweet family. I know there’s a lot of healing still to do, but this is one step closer to some sort of peace. You’re an amazing woman and have been one such a symbol of strength for so many of us. Continued prayers, every day.
Thank at @WCSD_GA for inviting me to emcee the 2024 Walton County Special Olympic Games and celebrate these fantastic athletes. #SpecialOlympics#GoDawgs
