@bertsbooks One of many books to read first when young I think for it to be really meaningful to you. I loved tgis book when younger. Nowdays my sympathies are significantly more with Rebecca than the 2nd Mrs de Winter.
@PaulaMc007 I read it mean that finding life hard is normal and doesn't mean that you need a diagnosis or have the same difficulties that neurodivergent people have. That if people think that if they were neurotypical they would be fine they think if they're not fine they're neurodivergent.
@ThefantasticsL I didn't think I'd seen this plant before seeing this post yesterday, but spotted it in a garden on an early walk this morning. It's very pretty.
Asking Jews to pass a purity test and renounce self-determination according to a perverse interpretation arbitrarily applied, isn't just an extreme position, itโs a racist one.
Thatโs before we consider the Green party is now backing violent dismantling of Israel.
@suladoyle Lovely. I was just reading about these earlier today in Vita Sackville West's Garden Book. She stopped her car on first spotting them in someone's garden as they were so striking.
@AmandaPCraig@JoanAiken I loved this book. I have thought so many times in my life about the wishing cat, and the girl painting on the white wall. Gorgeous stories with perfect illustrations.
An NHS hospital trust has wasted almost ยฃ1 million of public money trying to destroy nurses who simply didn't want to get undressed in front of a man.
Why does the safety of incarcerated women not matter? Housing males in women prisons, particularly predators, perpetrators of femicide and violence against women goes against all common sense, the principles of dignity, safety and equality of women. Women i prison are entilef to those rights too! It has gone on for too long and must stop immediately!
@glosswitch This is interesting, but there is a counter argument that parents are falsely accused of fabricating illness far more than it ever actually happens https://t.co/tuXxK8A6t1
I wrote about how keeping Girlguiding single sex will hurt children who've been lied to by adults - but to minimise it the liars need to stop lying https://t.co/Z9UdIUcGr1
@AmandaPCraig This was recommended to me recently and looks very interesting. It's on my reading list, which is ambitiously long so it'll be a while until I read it.
@AmandaPCraig Another person who wonders 'are students confusing the normal feelings of adolescence and a lack of resilience with poor mental health?' without wondering how this ties in with the dismantling of almost all children's support in the NHS and schools.
@Docstockk In most areas the NHS clinics (often CAMHS) have long waiting lists. Here it's 5 years, and you age out at 16. So there is in effect no NHS service for children. They have money for 5 new staff but can't recuit. The NHS service is way more thorough but not always an option.
