#SwintonArk
Today Swinton and Pendlebury came together at the cenotaph and Veterans Garden to remember and honour those who serve in our armed forces and all those who gave their tomorrows so we all have our today.
An incredible turnout again, despite the rain.
We will remember them.
@CitizenOneill @salford_mayor@RLong_Bailey@SalfordLabour@StuDickman@Cammell4Swinton@LEGALACTRESS The precinct isn’t owned by the council, but happy to raise concerns to the private owners for you if you wish?
Also happy to raise the fly tipping too if you can send us the location. First I’ve heard of an issue behind Morrisons. Please send us a message or drop us an email
This morning we were out speaking to residents in Swinton today with @salford_mayor, @RLong_Bailey and @SalfordLabour, finding out what people want for their community and how we can help. Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning. 🌹
A lovely day to officially open the new Campbell Road Play Area in Swinton Park. Thank you our ribbon cutters Ciara, Janine & Cllr Bentham - Lead Member for Environment. Great to see so many families enjoying the new park and all the extra activities arranged by the Ranger team.
Proud to see the newly refurbished Hive community centre in Victoria Park, Swinton thanks to a £30,000 refurbishment completed by @yourseddon. A project we have supported since it opened its doors to veterans and the wider community is now set for a positive future.
Always an incredible turnout at Swinton Cenotaph for Remembrance Day, and today was no different. This year and every year we pay our respects to the brave servicemen and women of our armed forces, and remember those who gave their lives for all our futures. #RemembranceSunday
The memorial wall recognises the twenty nine servicemen that sadly lost their lives in conflicts since 1945. All servicemen remembered today have links to the City of Salford.
1- Really proud today to see Salford Veterans Memorial Garden opened in Swinton. Earlier this year we had the four armed forces flags installed, and now we have dedicated benches for each of the eight recipients of the Victoria Cross and plaques.
Great turnout this morning for the start of Armed Forces Week and the raising of the flag outside the town hall.
And don’t forget this Saturday will be the Armed Forces Day parade, starting at Dukes Drive in Monton at 10:30am, and heading to Winton Park for the Family Fun Day!
We are delighted to have been presented with a defibrillator donated by #M3Perform at Critchley Community Hub to support visitors and local community. Thank you to everyone who joined us @RLong_Bailey MP and Local Councillors @StuDickman, @Cammell4Swinton and Heather Fletcher.
Great turnout for the opening of the Swinton Grrenway. Officially opened by City Mayor Paul Dennett. An amazing walking and cycling path linking areas across Swinton and Monton together. 🚶♂️ 🚴♀️ 🌳
Fair reward for the fourth ‘emergency service’. At @SalfordCouncil we have announced we will commit to paying all social care workers in the city the Real Living Wage from 1 April 2022.

Every day brings another party, another scandal.
This shows further contempt for the British people, many who couldn’t be with loved ones as they lay ill or dying as these parties took place. The PM’s authority to govern is gone and he has got to go.
CAMPBELL ROAD 15m MAST REJECTED 🙅♂️
Very pleased to speak on behalf of Swinton Park councillors, alongside local residents Johnathan and Carol, and @RLong_Bailey, to get this 15m mast rejected. It would’ve been intrusive and detrimental to the area and was rightly blocked.
