@anonswr Im a bit disappointed that you have decided not to share this letter to the RMT from Andy Mellors last week in response to their letter asking for more talks....I thought you would have shared this as soon as it was available??
@BadSwr @EastWimbledon@swtrains_watch @ShellyBelly5001 @SW_Help it was only announced just over a week ago. i heard from frontline staff so it must have been briefed out.
@theicehockeynut great tweet Henry, i've seen things like this a lot on the network. however i've also seen that NR have very little thought of out customers just sticking rigidly to the train plan vs common sense.
2/2 if it hopes for services ever to run on time. the reality is there is that many services on the network that the slightest issue what so ever causes chaos for our passengers. im glad the plan to run more services from may has been scrapped.
Slightly moving away from the strike topic for now. what is everyones opinion on how to get trains running on time?
my belief is that the network is far too congested and unless network rail can improve and expand the network rapidly SWR should be running less trains 1/2
@SW_Failways @FirstGroupplc i would imagine the share price rise is more linked to the election results, they threat of mass nationalisation has been lifted for now.
@DriverSwr @TigerDonald2000@swtrains_watch@viveksayal2003@SW_Help People learn, its not their every day roles. theres no sweeping under the carpet, from what ive seen any mistakes are treated the same should a guard have done the same thing. lots of guards make mistakes everyday too.
@SmithStephenP@TigerDonald2000@swtrains_watch@viveksayal2003@SW_Help The contingency guards are trained purely in the safety critical parts of the guards job so that trains can safely run. We absolutely do need guards, most passengers don't need them but the ones that do absolutely rely on them, not to forget you will need them in an emergency.
@viveksayal2003@SW_Help Just to clarify SWR are not enjoying the Christmas holidays. the guards are striking, the rest of us are picking up the pieces. there are hundreds of staff from all over the business that have given up time with their families to volunteer to do extra work. myself included.
@SW_Help@swtrains_watch 2/2 without severely impacting both timetables due to the logistics involved. Trains and crew are operating from different locations than normal to maximise the service with the contingency guards that we have. to revert to full timetable today would cause more chaos than normal
@SW_Help@swtrains_watch I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this was advertised when the first time tables were released. the comms in the stations have also been saying this. There simply isnt enough time to revert back to the full timetable to then revert back to the strike time table 1/2
@anonswr@SW_Help I doubt you will get an answer from @SW_Help otherwise they would have published the Andy Mellors letter to Mick Cash publicly. Although the letters between RMT & SWR are now available on the internal hub. @RMTunion any comments from yourselves?
No mention of the written agreement that the NEC vetoed. last week it was the DFT that scuppered the deal, now it was SWR....tell the truth to your members and to our customers.
@anonswr My understanding is that SWR proposed a deal around train despatch that we agreed in principle and that we would have recommended to our members, SWR then withdrew the offer. Only they can answer why. Today we have proposed a six point road map to a deal; https://t.co/1HqYxzc1Ss
