I listed my old iPhone 14 Pro on a marketplace app for $500. A buyer messaged me, offering full price, but asked to meet at a well-lit gas station because it was late. It felt safe enough.
We met under the bright LED lights near the pumps at 10:15 PM. The buyer looked completely normal...a college-aged guy in a hoodie. He handed me five crisp $100 bills. I handed over the factory-reset phone. He checked it, nodded, thanked me, and we went our separate ways.
I drove home feeling great about a clean, easy sale.
At 10:45 PM, my phone lit up with a message.
“You scammed me. This phone is blacklisted and the screen is a cheap replica. I want my money back right now.”
I was furious.
“What? No it isn't. I bought it directly from Apple. I have the receipt.”
The buyer replied with a video...

Bad fuel is sweeping through our region right now and our car engines are chocking.
We are literally paying premium prices for a low quality product that will cost millions in garage repairs later...
Has anyone else noticed their tank draining twice as fast this month?
I don't understand @mtnug's strategy. How do you invest such enormous amounts of money in expansion of WakaNet infrastructure to every village and estate and then simply leave it unserviceable, customer complaints unattended and network unavailable.!??
People are surprised that there are many passionate Arsenal fans in Uganda.
I can't wait to see what they will do when they learn that Arsenal's official DJ and announcer is Ugandan?
The part people underestimate is that looking at your phone for five seconds at 60km/h means you just travelled the length of a football pitch without actually seeing the road.
Most accidents are not caused by bad drivers. They are caused by good drivers who looked away at exactly the wrong moment. The road does not give you a warning before that moment arrives...
