I was thrilled to get the opportunity to attend #IWC2024Perth this past month thanks to @WheatInitiative! I presented some of my @WheatCAP research, connected with wheat researchers worldwide, and of course saw some Kangaroos!
WGRC and KSU IGF were happy to host @WheatCAP functional genomics workshop! 5-day dive into cytogenetics of wild wheat introgression, RNA-seq genomics, NGS genotyping and PHG imputation, marker design, and omics data integration. @KSUPlantDr@KStateAgRsch@USDA_NIFA@wgrc_ksu
Congrats #UNLAgroHort's @FrelsintheField – Harold & Esther Edgerton Junior Faculty Award and Greg Dorn – Exceptional Excellence Award! Recipients will be recognized at The Laurels award reception in the fall. ›› https://t.co/CQoFEbhbJb #UNL#IANR
@Syd_Graham leads off the Husker Wheat team today with her #sawfly phenotyping talk at #acs2023. Lots of hard work here on a really rough pest and I'm super excited by the results!
And in major team news, @ColeHammett won the #acs2023 Golden Opportunity Scholar poster competition! 🎉🎉🎉 Fellow PIs, Cole is looking for a MS program! 🌟🌟
New preprint🧵! We're excited to share the 1st release of the Human Microbiome Compendium, a dataset of publicly available 16S sequencing data from 168,000 human gut microbiome samples, processed using a single pipeline and integrated into one big table. https://t.co/poRVuRXt1L
Cole did a fantastic job this summer as an intern in the small grains group. It was a pleasure to be his mentor! He’s on the hunt for a M.S. program in plant breeding so reach out to him if you have any leads!
I wrapped up my REU internship in Applied Plant Phenotyping Technology at last week’s UNL Summer Research Symposium. My experience through this program is invaluable as I continue my search for a Master’s program in plant breeding. @Huskerwheat@WheatCAP
I definitely underestimated the amount of space 800 stem samples would take! Shout out to this crew for the help collecting pre-harvest samples in Western NE! #teamsawfly
Thanks to the harvest rain delay the interns and grad students in the @Huskerwheat lab helped me split stems to look for wheat stem sawfly larva, thank you for all the help!!
We hosted 40 farmers and researchers from @Arvalisofficiel yesterday! They got to see our severely drought stressed wheat and triticale trials & we talked hybrid wheat and wheat stem sawfly resistance followed by a trip to the @UNL_IANR & @NebraskaWheat quality lab.
