JUST IN: President Trump said he could travel to Islamabad to seal a deal, praising Pakistan’s leadership and signaling he “might go” if an agreement is signed there:
“The field marshal has been great. The Prime Minister has been really great in Pakistan so I might go.”

Pakistan’s anthem is highly Persianized, so Persian speakers may pronounce it more authentically—though it’s usually sung in an Urdu style.
Here is Pakistan’s national anthem performed by an Iranian singer.
This is the kind of Islam colonizers are comfortable promoting.
An Islam reduced to self-help slogans.
An Islam that speaks endlessly about “ignoring haters” but falls silent in the face of tyrants.
Karachi is not just DHA & Bahria Town. It is a delta of Lyari & Malir Rivers, with streams from the Kirthar mountains feeding life into it. But its waterways are being murdered — turned into sewage drains & highways..1/4

"It is a famine. The Gaza Famine.
It is a famine that we could have prevented, if we had been allowed. Yet food stacks up at borders because of systematic obstruction by Israel.
Everyone owns this. The #GazaFamine is the world’s famine."

I’m sorry but why is no one having the conversation how India is a continuation of the British Empire’s artificial creation of India as ONE large colony, and their current pain is “WHY are we not the exact same map as British India” WITH a Hindutva fantasy?
Neo-colonialism much?

Quaid e Azam University's graduates and their understanding of politics is *chef's kiss*.
I'm sorry but LUMS, IBA, Habib stand nowhere in front of the grounded, solid, discourse that QAU brings to the table.
In fact, one can tease out a distinct difference between the "quality" of discourse coming out of elite liberal Pakistani universities versus places like Quaid-e-Azam - not just in terms of the vernacular and rhetoric but also around what issue (and value framework) is being "centered".
This isn't a condemnation of LUMS, IBA, Habib by any means - great schools and great grads "technically". However, I'd like to see more class diversity, like that of QAU students, be platformed in discussion and conferences now. The discussion is more relatable, grounded, granular, and hence, visceral.
Asad Toor, arrested today by the Federal Investigation Agency in Islamabad for criticising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa in his journalism, was gifted a mug with Article 19 related to freedom of speech & #PressFreedom printed on it by the CJ’s spouse Sarina Isa in 2020.
