If anyone is trying to figure out why the former international darling, @ImranKhanPTI and his family are languishing in jail while a majority of Pakistan is screaming for his release against a captured government working for foreign interests that looks to kill its own population if they dare to resist in the street—it can probably be attributed to the answer to this loaded question by @jonathanvswan, who put Khan in a position to derail his nations sovereign differences to Washington.

His employer at the time, @axios, has currently been the number one spinner of misinformation regarding traffic in the Strait of Hormuz—pumping false diplomatic progress between Iran and the US with the aim to help suppress oil prices to aid the belligerent in the Iran war. This has been done with Swans former cowriter, former-IDF operative Barak Ravid.

Sometimes I wonder if he thinks about this at all.

Either remain silent while their chosen leader is imprisoned. Whilst his family is detained, his party is suppressed and justice is denied - or come out peacefully and exercise their fundamental right to protest.

Very early this morning a submission was made to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and copied to the @UN Special Rapporteurs on Freedom of Expression (@Irenekhan), Belief (@NazilaGhanea), and Assembly (@Ginitastar) in relation to the 'preventative detention' of @Aleema_KhanPK the sister of the @ImranKhanPTI who has been seized as the Pakistani Government seeks to prevent a protest march scheduled for 27 September 2026.

Whilst the submission was being drafted, Mrs Khan's sisters and son @KhanShershah were seized along with other family members. Whilst Shershah has now been released, Mrs Khan's sister remain detained unlawfully.

The @UN_SPExperts submission argues that the detention is unlawful because:
** she was detained under the vague provisions of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance which are in breach of the Johannesburg Principles on National Security,Freedom of Expression, and Access to Information;
**the law is being applied in an arbitrary manner against someone the Pakistani Government wants to silence rather than a person who pose a genuine danger; and
**that Mrs Khan's detention was ordered by the Government because of her exercise of her right to freedom of expression and assembly and to seek to prevent lawful protest on 27 September 2026 rather from any proper purpose

We call on the international community to speak up in relation to the persecution of Mrs Aleema Khan, Mr Imran Khan and the rest of his family and for the Pakistani authorities to cease their unlawful and shameful persecution.

IMRAN KHAN SISTER ARRESTED

Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former Pakistani PM Imran Khan, has been detained in Lahore for 30 days, a week before the PTI’s planned September 27 march on Islamabad demanding his release.

Police took her into custody yesterday after she left her home.

The deputy commissioner’s order said her public presence posed a “grave threat to public safety” and accused her of mobilising supporters.

She was sent to Kot Lakhpat Jail; her driver was also detained.

The PTI and her family called the arrest illegal. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had already vowed to stop the protest.
