Every empire has a story it tells about itself. It speaks of civilization. Progress. Religion. Order.
The people who lived under that empire often remember something different.
The Congo was one of the richest places on Earth. Its people paid an unimaginable price as rubber and ivory were extracted through forced labor under King Leopold II’s rule. Millions are estimated to have died or suffered during that period according to many historical accounts.
Patrice Lumumba understood that colonialism was never just about taking land. It was about taking history. If you convince a people that their suffering was a gift then they may forget who benefited from it.
The scars of colonialism do not disappear when a flag comes down. They remain in economies built for extraction. They remain in borders drawn by outsiders. They remain in the memory of families who never received justice.
History cannot be changed but it can be told honestly. A nation cannot heal from wounds it is forbidden to acknowledge.

Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day – the Allied landings in Normandy, which significantly hastened the countdown to the Nazis' collapse in World War II. It is one of the most important moments of unity among the defenders of life in human history, and it was less than a year until the peoples’ aspiration for freedom and the hope of peace prevailed in May 1945. It happened then. We are working to make it happen again today.
And although yesterday in Petersburg another cynical order to continue killing was issued for the army trying to destroy our freedom, history has seen this before. The Nazis also had their own hopes after D-Day. But freedom still wins. And even in the darkest circumstances, people find ways to come together to protect life.
I thank all those who are now helping to protect the values that prevailed in World War II. I thank everyone who is defending life. Glory to Ukraine!
Let people be wrong about you.
It’s not your job to make everyone’s perception of you accurate.
Some people will misunderstand you — intentionally or not.
They’ll assign motives you don’t have.
They’ll believe stories you never told.
They’ll see you through the filter of their own wounds and call it truth.
And you could spend hours, days, years trying to correct them.
Explaining. Defending. Proving.
But here’s the thing: people who are determined to missee you will never see you clearly.
Not because you’re not clear.
Because they’re not looking.
So let them be wrong.
Let them think what they want.
Your peace is not in their perception.
It’s in your own knowing.
You know who you are.
The people who matter know too.
Everyone else?
Let them have their version.
It’s not your job to manage their reality.
It’s your job to live yours — fully, quietly, unapologetically.

Thank you for your support! We must do everything possible to ensure that Europe has enough of its own air defense systems of all types, including ballistic missile defense. Thank you, Emmanuel, for helping already to find the necessary means of protection and for the fact that we are all working together toward ballistic missile defense capabilities.
