"For Fellini, Politics is the empire of the superficial, the transitory, of everything that’s fragile. All musicians forget their own music (the eternal) to delve passionately into the superfluity of political conflict and personal interest"
(Aresta, for Vulturehound, 2018)
Just found a bit of pandemic-appropriate history: I now work in Chatsworth House, only remaining part of the Eastern Fever Hospital, one of the first 'state-funded' UK hospitals. Now, people that work there have been frontline for COVID. @NHSHomerton https://t.co/q5LpX0DX19
There's been lots of stuff in the papers about people dreaming more than they usual during the Great Lockdown. I certainly have. Over the centuries, art has seen plenty of attempts to capture the sensation of dreaming. Here are my Top Ten dream pictures. In ascending order...
Our https://t.co/8GNK5Fm3c7 guidance on psychological support for front line hospital staff has now been published in this handy infographic by the Kings Fund. Please share with anyone who may benefit! https://t.co/fHfeJkXPyX
NHS cleaning staff rarely receive any praise
But they do an incredibly important job and will help save many lives over the coming weeks, so please spare a RT for all of them
The Chinese and #HongKong governments must immediately deescalate the situation and exercise restraint at #PolyU. More violence & bloodshed will only make things worse.
The world is watching. #StandWithHongKong#DemocracyForHK
Just incredible. This siege is happening in a major university, at the heart of a financial hub. There is no sign the government has attempted anything to avoid getting to this point, officials remain completely absent.
@Judithstroud6 The need is without doubt and all in agreement on this. Had some really informative and productive conversations with our good colleagues @nelft over last couple of days @SylviaPea@BPSFacCHP@BuzA_physH
@RonaMossMorris Perhaps that's a limitation of 2nd wave CBT in the way it conceptualises distress. But the paper mentions that the therapy components it talks about are general to most psychotherapies. Bet AI looking at appropriately measured 3rd wave CBT would show similarly positive correlates
@DFrizelle @BPSFacCHP@RonaMossMorris@UK_ACP Maybe not therapy components per se, but the measures that need to change for LTC. Many of my patients don't report obvious signs of anxiety/depression, but struggling to adjust/cope/accept, dealing w/losses, reduced qol etc... Measure these!
@DrEstherCT@JPFaulconbridge Hi! Wondering if either of you can help? We're planning an activity for our BPS CHPFAC AGM, I seem to remember you running an interesting activity for the DCP AGM at last year's Cardiff conference, would be great to get a reminder of how you ran it!
