Nobody talks about the person you become after trauma.
The overthinking.
The apologising.
The fear of being too much.
The guilt of saying no.
You survived what happened.
But now you’re trying to survive what it left behind.

The saddest part of losing yourself is remembering who you used to be.
The laughter.
The dreams.
The light in your eyes before life taught you to hide it.
And wondering if she’ll ever return.
But perhaps she never left.
Perhaps she’s waiting to be found.
They called her strong,
but what did they know?
Of the nights she collapsed
when there was nowhere to go.
Of the tears on her pillow,
the screams in her head,
the battles she fought
just to get out of bed.

I spent years avoiding the woman in the mirror.
Not because I hated her face.
But because I recognised the pain behind her eyes.
She knew every secret.
Every mistake.
Every wound I’d tried to hide.
And still, she stared back.
She wanted answers
I couldn’t give
#addiction
They buried her alive, you see,
Not in the ground, but silently.
No coffin made, no flowers laid,
Just pieces of a soul betrayed.
They broke her down with whispered lies,
watched the light leave both her eyes.
They stole her voice, Fed her shame,
Until she barely knew her name
Loving you wasn’t the hardest part.
It was loving you while slowly losing pieces of myself.
It was defending a heart that had never stopped choosing you.
And the cruelest part?
I knew I deserved peace, but my heart still whispered your name.
People think silence means peace.
Sometimes it does.
But sometimes silence is someone sitting in a room full of people, screaming inside while nobody hears a thing.
Sometimes it’s swallowing another tear.
Another memory.
Another truth.

Some memories don’t fade.
They sit quietly beneath your skin, waiting for the world to go silent.
When it does, they remind you of everything you fought so hard to forget.
People call it the past.
But sometimes the past still feels like yesterday.
Wounded.
But never broken
I’ve been silent for a while, but silence doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to say.
Behind every addiction is a story.
Behind every scar is a battle.
And behind every survivor is a voice
