@Rompepollo @jchensor Menat was never going to be high play rate due to gameplay reasons but she is more of a popular art and story character same as like zeku. But Like outside the like 5 main sf characters i honestly think popularity externally only slightly matters to capcom itself.

@Rompepollo @jchensor Its harder with older games since you cant see online play rates but like with 5 and 6 we've had character popularity by pick rate. And im sure the company has an idea for the desired play rate based on character complexity and stuff. Ed for example was really popular in JP.

@Drudie_ Tbf even without this season the amount of sf6 is their first game characters is on par for the last 2 games in terms of % of the roster is new. Thats if you give 4 and 5 grace for characters that we already knew existed too. The game wasnt like lacking new characters.

One thing i dont get about people acting like sf6 doesnt have new comers. The dlc only has 1 cause the base roster had 6 and thats if you dont count luke. Ingrid (functionally new) and AKI are also new. With s4 excluding guests 11 of the 30 "SF" characters are SF6 characters
