On the first day of our conference, “Building Bridges & Breaking Barriers,” we were honored to host @RepJoeWilson , Republican Congressman from South Carolina.

Rep. Wilson shared reflections from his recent visit to Damascus, including entering the Presidential Palace and meeting with President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. His remarks highlighted a significant moment in the evolving U.S.-Syria relationship and the importance of continued dialogue, stability, and mutual cooperation.

Silicon Valley recently hosted a gathering of technology leaders, policymakers, and members of the Syrian American diaspora to discuss Syria’s digital and economic transition.

At the SYNC Iftar, these conversations brought together voices from across the technology and policy communities exploring opportunities around Syria’s evolving digital and economic landscape.

SAAPP was pleased to participate in the dialogue, which included a ministerial delegation from Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, led by Minister Abdulsalam Haykal, alongside representatives from the U.S. public and private sectors.

We value these opportunities for dialogue and collaboration and look forward to supporting initiatives that strengthen Syria’s economic and technological future.

شكرًا لكل من حضر، ودعم، وساهم في إنجاح هذا اللقاء. حضوركم يعكس روح مجتمع لا يتراجع، يتحمل مسؤوليته ويشارك بفعالية.

العمل الإنساني ما زال ضرورة ملحّة. عائلات تعيد بناء حياتها، ومجتمع ما زال في مرحلة التعافي، والاحتياج لا يزال قائمًا.

العمل الإغاثي وحده لا يكفي. المناصرة تبقى ركيزة أساسية. بناء مؤسسات مستقرة، وتعزيز المساءلة، وضمان انخراط دولي مسؤول، أمور تتطلب جهدًا جادًا ومتواصلًا. فالقرارات التي تُتخذ في واشنطن تترك أثرها في سوريا.

لم تكن هذه الأمسية مجرد فعالية لجمع التبرعات، بل كانت تعبيرًا عن مسؤولية مشتركة، وعن التزام برسم مسار طويل الأمد نحو مستقبل أفضل.

المسؤولية مستمرة، وكذلك التزامنا.

Humanitarian work remains essential, and that is why we continue to stand in support.

At the same time, our responsibility extends beyond relief alone. Advocacy remains critical. Progress does not sustain itself. Stable institutions, accountable governance, and responsible international engagement require consistent and serious effort. Policy decisions made here continue to shape realities on the ground there.

Tonight was not just about fundraising. It was, in part, about nation building.

This responsibility is ongoing, and so is our commitment.

ندين بأشد العبارات استهداف قوات سوريا الديمقراطية (قسد) لمبنى محافظة حلب بطائرة مسيّرة إيرانية الصنع، واستهداف المدنيين في المدينة. هذه الأفعال تكشف بوضوح عن الطبيعة الإرهابية الحالية لبنية قسد، وأصبحت مدانة علناً من الجميع.
لقد استنفدت قسد كل فرص العودة إلى طاولة المفاوضات وتنفيذ اتفاق 10 آذار برعاية أمريكية. ندعو بقوة وحسم إلى العودة الفورية والجادة إلى هذا الاتفاق وتطبيقه كاملاً.
أي خيار بديل سيؤدي حتماً إلى القضاء على أي قوة إرهابية تهدد أمن المدنيين وحياتهم.

📣 It is now official. The NDAA has been signed @POTUS and the Caesar Act has been fully repealed.

This is a moment Syrians have awaited with patience and resolve. It represents a long-delayed opening for relief, reconstruction, and the gradual revitalization of Syria’s economy after years of strain.

We express our profound appreciation to Senator Jeanne Shaheen @SenatorShaheen and Congressman Joe Wilson @RepJoeWilson whose leadership and persistence were central to achieving this outcome. Their efforts helped shape a path toward a more constructive policy approach and a future defined by stability and cooperation rather than isolation.

A defining milestone for Syrians everywhere. Congratulations. 🎉🤍🇸🇾
