The first ever test of a late 2013 client and an early 2016 client playing on the same early 2016 game server. This took around a year to add support for protocol versions 18, 20, 24, and 34.

It's quite sad seeing all the high-quality first-party apple developer tools we've lost.

Older programs used to have so much work and care put into them that none of the newer ones will ever seem to get.

Reality Composer Pro seems to be the exception, but it's not even native.

@brazensheriff67 Also, the gamma in Legacy4J is highly likely not accurate to the Xbox 360's, since the Xbox 360 Edition uses the Xbox's native gamma implementation with specific rolloff values and whatnot, which would be way more effort than its worth to replicate in a shader.

@brazensheriff67 By "spicy" and "crunchy", are you referring to the mipmaps? (see picture)

@1000kilobytes Damn man. I'm really sorry to hear. 17 is such a young age to lose a parent at. I wish you and your family the best. May he rest in peace.

I would love it if Roblox actually dug up some ancient builds of the Roblox client from pre-2007 to show off as a historical curiosity, since there’s no footage of Roblox from when it was Dynablocks.

The only person who I’d imagine still has build files prior to March 2007 would be @Shedletsky, or the family of @CasselErik. Maybe even @DavidBaszucki but that’d probably be a long shot. I remember asking @mattdusekwho when I was an intern but didn’t have any luck.

These old builds are running out of time for archival if they haven’t been properly saved since they are susceptible to hardware failure from the last 20+ years. I hope there’s still a chance they might still be out there.

I also hope Roblox has properly archived the code behind these older versions of Roblox.

Centering a div is now a solved problem

Developers have been testing the fleX Alpha stealth model. today, we are announcing it as DIV-1 Flash

after much deliberation i have decided to mail in a request to microsoft for the Linux kernel source code (contained within Azure Sphere OS)

letter goes out by certified mail tomorrow :)

i chose this because:
1. it is GPLv2 and has releases within the last 3 years, so afaik they are required to respond
2. i think it’s hilarious to make microsoft send me linux

I’m happy to announce the release of a new open source 3D physics engine called Box3D. I’ve been working on this project for a few years now, but it represents over 20 years of experience writing physics engines for games. Read more here: https://t.co/2d9aVuUsxj

@forg3dz @rbxXlXi It was a scrapped feature that they were pretty discrete about during its development. Same thing with Age of Glory.

No, no, no. I don't like this. This is exactly the type of shit Roblox was saying before they drove the platform into a wall. Please no, for goodness sake, don't try the "biggest and greatest ever" approach, just focus on the thing itself abd keep your goals grounded. 🙏😭
