@AhmadFaruqui We love our Volt. It's the second one we've had. We are only looking elsewhere because GM abandoned it. We run on electric 90% of the time but for those few times we need the gas engine backup, it's there and we have no range anxiety.
@AhmadFaruqui We are fans of plug in hybrids. Check out the Toyota Rav 4 prime. A friend who just bought one loves it. We are getting one when our Volt lease is done.
@AhmadFaruqui I would love to see how these folks do completely disconnected from the grid. That would be the true test for the affluent though it still doesn't help renters and those of modest means.
There ARE large-scale, long-duration #energystorage alternatives to batteries. We need more than one solution to maintain safe, reliable, affordable power. @PintailPower
Glad to see battery end-of-life issues getting some attention. As we rebuild our energy infrastructure, we can & should be more thoughtful about future generations. https://t.co/UxsK5lQHCv
@politico Thank you for raising this issue. Large scale solar with large-scale, long-duration hybrid thermal storage is a more equitable approach to decarbonization and a better way to keep the lights on at night.
@AhmadFaruqui Why do you think it's a one-sided screed? Most LMI families can't have solar without donors keeping solar developers whole? And non-solar customers subsidize overnight resources for those on net metering.
California's rooftop solar program collides with equity concerns https://t.co/D3CDb7my5I
The only way solar is available to LI residents—as rooftop or as community solar—is with charitable underwriters keeping the developers whole. Everyone depends on common resources at night
The Fastest Way to Get There from Here https://t.co/C7lEdF3WN1 We don't have to wait to get large scale, long-duration #energystorage. The transition can begin now.
A study by the University of California shows adding small amounts of seaweed to cattle feed can reduce methane emissions from cattle by 82%. As cattle are the top producers of agricultural #GHGs, this could help promote more #sustainable livestock.

It makes sense to also decarbonize fuel and use existing infrastructure for both heating + electric generation, especially with @PintailPower hybrid energy storage.
Natural Gas Companies Have Their Own Plans To Go Low-Carbon https://t.co/rqDNgJkg0i
Get there faster w thermal assets integrated w @PintailPower energy storage technology: 50% immediate reduction, 75% more renewables stored not curtailed, 100% hydrogen. Getting to Net Zero is Surprisingly Feasible https://t.co/RLEnZl9Jx6 via @BerkeleyLab
@NGSusHub@dcooperriderai Significantly greater reduction in GHG emissions can happen faster if the gas generation assets are integrated with @PintailPower 's energy storage technology: 50% immediate reduction, 75% more renewables stored instead of curtailed, 100% hydrogen and other green fuels arrive.
Want utilities to buy more renewables, use less gas, while maintaining reliability overnight? Adopt long-duration hybrid #energystorage from @PintailPower to speed up decarbonization now. https://t.co/WcT1L62a3r
If climate activists want utilities to buy more renewables and expect them to supply electricity overnight to power lights, AC, heat and charge EVs, then they need to support long-duration hybrid #energystorage from @PintailPower Fastest way to reliably, equitably decarbonize
Equitable #energy#decarbonization is possible. Adding long-duration storage to the gas fleet lets the grid absorb more solar and avoid brownouts https://t.co/JgYz3uJwYq
Integration of energy storage with fossil generation is the least-cost means of reducing carbon emissions from gas plants needed for reliability. By cutting fuel consumption, it is also the least-cost means of using H2 as a fuel. Now we also have post-combustion CO2 capture.
