At @thinkescalent we recently released our EVForward Southeast Asia Snapshot report. The region is going to go #EV pretty quickly, and Chinese brands are high in consumers’ consideration sets.
@GuyDealership Nope. Liberals are less likely to consider a Tesla (despite being increasingly likely to consider an #EV) while conservatives are no more likely to consider an #EV (though they do like Elon & Tesla more).
We've been keeping tabs on this in @thinkescalent's EVForward study.
As I told a client several years ago when they questioned our finding that buyers had an overwhelming negative reaction to the Cybertruck, reservations =/= sales
BREAKING: Cybertrucks are now available in Tesla's online inventory in the U.S.
Both Foundation Series AWD and Cyberbeasts are available. Only select areas have them, but I imagine it'll only grow from here.
The last thing the world needs right now is for X to turn into a right-wing echo chamber, and for platforms like Threads and Bluesky to become echo chambers for liberals.
Social media needs more differing political views and more open conversations by opposing sides, not less.
👇 This. People have been conditioned by consumer electronics. Over half of new car buyers think #EV batteries need to be replaced every couple of years.
The good news? Sharing info in battery warranty (at least 8/100, sometimes more) significantly reduces the concern.
@LangReynolds People are use to replacing their phones every year or two due to battery issues. They think it will be the same thing with their car. Or in this case might be a $NIO investor who is just trying to pump up their stock value.
@SimonMahan Or maybe we can build our social networks as an "anti bubble". That's a big part of why I'm still here...I have accounts on Bluesky and Mastadon, but there are very few (if any) conservative or libertarian voices on either platform.
#EV ownership & shopping is dominated by men, but it doesn't have to be (and shouldn't be!). Our latest report from @thinkescalent examines why and what we can do about it. https://t.co/spGxzmQI4s
Could women be the key to boosting BEV adoption?
New data from our EVForward study reveal gender differences in BEV purchasing behavior and familiarity, highlighting untapped potential for OEMs and dealers to engage female consumers.

@brandenflasch I’ve run into a couple of these “out of order sign but will charge” EVSEs, oddly enough also along the coast. Last one was a ChargePoint somewhere near Edisto Island, SC…
@mrekset Indeed. Couple it with a change in #EV brand dynamics:
A couple of years ago, it was essentially Tesla or nothing.
Now it’s Tesla as part of a much bigger (avg of 6 brands) consideration set
