The @FloridaState chapter of the Society of Physics Students has won the Outstanding Chapter Award from the society’s national organization for the second year in a row! 🌟 Congrats to the entire team for another outstanding year.
Congrats to Laura Reina, a @FloridaState Distinguished Research Professor at @FSUPhysics, on receiving the 2024 Jesse W. Beams Award from @APSphysics
Southeastern Section! Learn how her pioneering work in particle physics has helped advance the field: https://t.co/L8C1WgeJVI.
Spintronics, a new field in condensed matter physics, could redefine the future of tech like cell phones & computers by boosting performance while slashing power consumption & costs. Two @FloridaState professors are advancing this innovative research: https://t.co/DD9zoAR8JV
I'm thrilled Harrison Prosper has been named FSU's Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor. A world-renowned physicist, he has played a major role in several scientific discoveries and has an esteemed track record of research, teaching and service. https://t.co/m4KqMsZsiy
At Lepton Photon 2023, held in July, one of our physics graduate students, Meutia Wulansatiti, received a Special Mention for her poster about the CMS tracker performance in LHC Run 3. It is the most important particle physics conference of the year. Congratulations Muti!
@SteinbockGroup@PhysInHistory It is a different world. Authorship rules are determined in advance and there is a quite complex internal review system. There is no step for every author to agree to sign each paper. In practice only a portion of the members reads any given paper. We have 70-120 papers/year.
@SteinbockGroup@PhysInHistory It’s not strictly alphabetical by name. The CMS collaboration (listed after ATLAS) orders authors by country, institution, and then name. The US is the last country and Wisconsin is the last institution.
.@FloridaState is celebrating 50 years of excavations at Cetamura del Chianti with the inauguration of a new museum! Read about the spectacular discoveries made by #FSU researchers that span from the time of the Etruscans, Romans & Medieval Italians, here: https://t.co/azeJCTmAVH
