There’s a lot of very legitimate reasons to be upset with Alford and FSU athletics. Refusing to pay $750k to a player from a sport that loses money is not one of them.
@IraSchoffel The people who broke it are still in charge.
But at least we have that cute facility for the program that can’t get out of the cellar in the conference we sued
Other than a few always online fans who’s daily mission seems to be to complain about every bit of news, the fanbase seems largely apathetic. Certainly here in Tallahassee.
I’m checked out on football so don’t comment about it much, but every day seems more and more like a bad calculation for FSU and MN not to negotiate a buyout and find him a soft landing spot. Reputation for both continues to deteriorate daily. Both parties would be better off.
@brettpn All very good points.
I think the thing that bothers me most about this team is the fact that so many players didn’t seem to have a position. And very few were + defenders. Uncharacteristic of a Link team.
Maybe it’s ok to have 1-2 of those on your team but they better mash.
FSU SS Kelvyin Paulino Jr. is entering the transfer portal, according to @_aroundthehorn_ and me.
His freshman year at FSU was solid, hitting .275 with six doubles, two triples, a home run, and 21 RBIs.
The quality of play the last 2 weeks was pretty rough but it’s quite an accomplishment that this team won 40 games. But FSU fans deserve and expect better quality baseball. A lot of work to do this off season @FSUBaseball
Starting pitcher
Starting pitcher
Starting pitcher
High leverage reliever
Catcher
Shortstop
Centerfielder (unless Dowd comes back)
3rd Baseman
2nd Baseman
1st Baseman (unless by some miracle Bailey comes back)
That’s a lot of holes to fill
Note how many time St John’s fouled off 2 strike pitches to extend the at bat and and work out pitch counts up and conversely, how our hitters get in 2-1 and 3-1 counts and then strike out
I get that’s it’s beating a dead horse but if your lineup has a former pitcher, who just started swinging the bat again a few weeks ago, hitting in the middle of your order you’ve got a real problem. Hopefully they come back but these at bats are just not very good at all
