I find soccer purists weird. Every sport, as it gets popular, makes adjustments to accommodate television coverage. Yes, the phony cover story of "hydration" is a bit silly, but healthy sports allow television networks to make more money so they can make more money!

It’s a blow. No two ways about it. Brings about a pressure for the club to respond with something big/exciting. This habit of losing out is becoming tedious, and not befitting a club who say they want to be “number one”.

There is no point pretending otherwise. Newcastle had a bid accepted for Victor Munoz and the player chose to go to Liverpool. It’s a painful blow and brings back bad memories for #nufc from last summer.

When there is competition for targets they have a nasty habit of missing out.

But it’s a long summer. Judge the window in September not June. There are other targets they are working on.
