La FBB adresse ses condoléances à Olivier Benkemoun, dont le chat a péri sous un TGV.

Le journaliste Olivier Benkemoun a perdu Gina, ce mercredi 1er juillet, à la gare de Lyon. Gina a réussi à s'échapper de son sac de transport (fermé) et s'est retrouvée, terrorisée, sur les voies.

Vingt minutes. Voilà le temps que la SNCF a accordé à la famille de Monsieur Benkemoun pour essayer de la sauver, avant de faire redémarrer le train. Personne n'est descendu sur les rails. Tout le monde a attendu. Le temps s’est écoulé et le trafic a repris. Gina n'a pas survécu. En outre, les agents SNCF ont osé annoncer aux passagers que la minette avait été retrouvée et sauvée, cela était faux !

Ce drame nous rappelle celui arrivé en 2023 à la gare Montparnasse, où un autre félin avait subi le même sort, face à l’impatience des agents de la SNCF.

Nous pensons à Olivier Benkemoun et à sa famille - en particulier à son fils qui a été témoin de cette scène horrible -, mais également à tous ceux qui ont vécu un drame similaire.

👉 Une plainte a été déposée et la FBB se constitue partie civile aux côtés de la famille.

➡️ Nous allons contacter la SNCF pour lui rappeler que ce protocole est insuffisant. Un véritable protocole technique doit être mis en place pour donner une chance aux animaux, ainsi qu'un accompagnement humain des familles victimes d’un tel drame, ce qui n’a absolument pas été le cas hier.

🚨 16 children rescued from “horrific” conditions after being confined to one small room for years in Ohio.

The children, ages 1.5 to 18, were found living in extreme squalor inside a home in Hamden, Vinton County. Officials described them as appearing “almost like feral animals.” Some couldn’t speak, and the 18-year-old reportedly couldn’t even spell her name. The conditions were so bad the children were “literally about to fall through the floor.”

Four family members the parents and grandparents were arrested after a search warrant by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

They face 17 felony counts of child endangering. Several children were hospitalized in serious condition.

Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson said he had never seen anything like it. This case shows how long-term, multi-generational abuse inside a family can go undetected for years. What systems need to improve so these situations are caught much sooner?
