@BaptistBavinck It depends on how curated the content is. Podcast, blog post, YouTube video? All great, but give me at least 1.5x. Manuals/textbooks/info/data? Fast. The closer a medium gets to my own arbitrary definition of art, the slower I go. Same for works held in high regard.
@lukedsimmons That hasn’t been my experience, but I think we’re in very different contexts and roles. I’m a fan of whatever it takes to serve and lead well while keeping our eyes on Christ!
@edstetzer I occasionally use it (cautiously) in worship planning. It’s *very* helpful for identifying themes and relating them to scripture. It feels wrong, but is it really any different than using the indices in the back of the hymnal? Prayer and discernment are irreplaceable, of course.
@JonathanRBrooks @larrydrobertson @SBCExecComm A great question that really needs to be answered. That’s why I was in favor of the proposed Greenway amendment, it seemed like a step in achieving that clarification.
@bobsmietana I’m really glad to hear that, but that certainly wasn’t the posture presented in three (?) statements by leadership one week ago. I want to be charitable, but I think my skepticism is understandable.
