@proximus I don't really care for myself, I care for the vulnerable. Proof is you quickly reacted shared this useful link. Why isn't this info part of the script if somebody says he is not interested before hearing the pitch? As I said, #predatory.
When you get a commercial call and say you're not interested? The operator turns pushy and says you can't possibly not be interested in something you don't know about? I just realized (stupid me), like the rest of the call, somebody scripted it in cold blood. @proximus#predatory
Nicely phrased nugget of wisdom by @BandeenKaren "we learn primarily by specifying how simple models fail to fit, not by observing that complex models happen to fit".
Test and trace apps can open up the world. But how do we maintain privacy with our location and health data constantly being collected?
Researchers from our Computational Privacy Group will be taking your questions next week as part of #ImperialLates

@citizen_garden @AchilleColignon If you park your open trailer there, and it happens that you have a garden in it, do you think it would still be a problem?
Privacy researchers, govts, and tech companies work on contact tracing apps, hoping to curb down the pandemic. We often hear that 56, 60, or 70% of the population would need to install these apps. These are likely incorrect reads of a paper published by Ferretti et al. Thread ⤵️
Guess the animal... Stumbled on a stupid joke which highlight pretty well the risk of applying out-of-the-box anonymisation techniques indiscriminately. Going through the moves doesn't equate to doing the thing #anonymisation#privacy#minorities#giraffes
These aren't normal times but calling this data anonymous is just misleading: "The controls include removing identifiers such as name and address and replacing these with a pseudonym." This is the literal definition of pseudonymous data art. 4(5) GDPR. 1/2
"These statistics are derived for each Belgian municipality and provided in the form of graphs and tables in a pdf document." Really? How much harder would it be to just dump the data in a csv? #OpenData@meteobenl@meteobefr@OpenKnowledgeBE

Read that in @FukuyamaFrancis's "Political order and political decay" today. It's always shocking when you discover uncannily modern concerns in old ideas... #partisanPolitics#history
6 years already. 6 years only. Time for some retrospective on what the @DataScienceBe has achieved and how the world of data science in #Belgium has evolved. Be welcome at the @digityser on the 19th of march for a unique event! https://t.co/izYC8IhNvX
The stand-up of the Data Lab this morning was kind of funny, _everyone_ was fighting with a different aspect of getting her/his @awscloud#lambda function working (CloudWatch monitoring, Resource Based Policy, Python library versions). #Serverless for the win :-) #MachineLearning
I got the same one and it definitely made my day. I think it's the first time I read a marketing email... several times... and showed it to friends. Mission accomplished!
As a teenager, I didn't feel alive until end of afternoon. Grown up, I maim my efficiency cycle by offsetting it 3-6 hours to match the society cycle... Now I have to push that thing to my 4yo (who doesn't like sleeping). I feel bad to force this arbitrary schedule on her.
