@AlexC_NJD If Sunny wanted to make the fans love him, Henrique as their 4th line center would be a low risk, high reward option. Still on the UFA market and shouldn’t cost too much.
Get out of a bad contract with no money retained + adding 2 good versatile bottom 6 forwards that are proven playoff performers. Good start to the Sunny era cleaning up the mess Fitz left him with #NJDevils
🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨
We’ve acquired Evan Rodrigues, Jesper Boqvist, and Ben Steeves from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jacob Markstrom and Angus Crookshank.

@AlexC_NJD Solid playoff performer with Florida. 5 points, 41 hits in 13 games during their last run. Nice production for a bottom 6 guy that has a well rounded skillset.
@jt1537@AlexC_NJD His hockey IQ seems to be his downfall, that’s something you may or may not be able to help him improve on. But he definitely has a lot of attributes you can’t teach- size/physicality, speed, great hands/shot. He has some positive traits if you can coach the rest.
@jp_gambatese Think they’d be better off trying to acquire Merchenko or Knies, both are younger and bigger which would compliment Jack/Bratt better. Not using the first rounder Friday as part of a package feels like a mistake, but still have other assets they can use, like the Nemec return.
@DevilsRedAlert Very possible they still might have the assets to acquire pieces to help them this year, but they just wasted what was probably their biggest bargaining chip that should’ve been used in a trade.
@jp_gambatese Depth scoring is already a concern, can’t forget about that in pursuit of filling a different need. Losing a great 3rd line wing, and having to pay probably $14M AAV for Robertson, will leave an enormous void in the bottom 6 that’s already not good.
@pitchforkedpuck that's a very strong return they can hopefully flip some of those picks for a player this summer. Plus it sheds a bad contract to help free up cap space.
