Wondering how Zoom simultaneous works? Check out our presentation for the University of Arizona “Expanding your Toolbox: Using Zoom for Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI)” on #Vimeo https://t.co/NxmfTlPtRe
Fun fact: @Zoom allows concurrent screen shares so participants can view slides in multiple languages. No more having to say, "We'll put a link to the French slides in the chat." Setting up and executing this is one of the many services we are proud to offer event hosts.
Join @timbrebkk, @ENM_Interpreter & @AimeeKBenavides for “TEA Time: Ask Us Anything,” Monday 1/28/22 at 8:30 pm EST- an informal chat about #RSI including our favorite tools for #R1nt at the moment.

Simul for Webex - We think it's a game changer. Interpreters can hear each other, handoffs are reasonable (we think) and relay doesn't require contortions of any kind. https://t.co/SaXrZRJ4G6
🚨🚨🚨 It is now possible to listen to interpretation from browser on Zoom. Not to host, not to interpret, but you can listen! @AimeeKBenavides@ENM_Interpreter @tom_trans
And for an encore: Who does bad sound better, @zoom_us or @Webex? Don't try this at home kids; there's enough bad sound out in the world as it is. 😂 PSA, please use a mic; then most any platform will serve you well. 🥰 https://t.co/ZqnK9N6Kdy @AimeeKBenavides@ENM_Interpreter
Decided to see if I could figure out why the sound is often so bad on
@Webex. Here are the results, most tellingly @~2:00 w/laptop mic. Hypothesis: it's the default audio filtering, which goes haywire with persistent background noise close to the mic. https://t.co/u3WLrnwhqJ
We're so excited to deliver on part 2 of our solution for people who need to connect to Zoom and hear interpretation over the phone. Now all digital, just a bridging computer and simple software with no analog phone or cables! https://t.co/4EerbTQq0m
Stop the presses: the inimitable @AimeeKBenavides of T.E.A. has figured out how to have Zoom interpretation on a dial-in connection. There are some steps and equipment involved, find out more here: https://t.co/BJwcLF5VFM
TEA Zoom teching this week with @timbrebkk@ENM_Interpreter@AimeeKBenavides and @LauraInterprets. All these devices are recording or monitoring; all 40 speakers received mics, mic checks, and Zoom presenting tutorials before the conference. Day one success...and strong sound!
Recently got some colleagues (@AnabellaTidona, @kmr2e, @TANUCC10 and more!) together for a test and confirmed that @zoom_us' new custom language channels work IN ADDITION to the 8 existing channel options, so you can have 13 channels at once. Learn more at

Breaking new re: @zoom_us: today's update brings up to five customized languages! From what we can tell from testing so far, it may actually be possible to have up to 13 booths now, from 8. NOTE, everyone, inc. participants, need to update their Zoom to access. @ENM_Interpreter
Get the inside scoop on Ablio from @KattyKauffman, a lightweight, BYO tech team platform that can overlay non-RSI platforms. Thank you, Katty, for this amazing preview! https://t.co/6vN355MlR2
Zoom is great, but it could be even better! If enough of us tell them we need to hear our partners, and that we need to be able to use Zoom simul for people calling in or using a browser, maybe we'll get it!
#R1nt workers, share changes you'd like to see to @zoom_us' interpretation feature via their feedback form: https://t.co/YcvYhAiPKi
I can think of a few...
