Pep Guardiola got a job for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, and Enzo Maresca at Man City. Sir Alex Ferguson didn't have such pull.
7-year-old City fan Braydon met Man City’s new boss Pep Guardiola in 2016. 🚕

10 years and 20 trophies later, they met again. Braydon was right. 👀🏆

🗣️Fernandinho on how Guardiola fit Aguero into the City team…
“It was easy because Pep’s masterclass was finding solutions.
“If you have a player like Aguero, you just can’t throw him away, and he solved it because he built the team for Aguero to make two runs to press and the rest of us used to do the hard part of the work.
“For example, the first season during the goal kick, the players could not receive the ball inside the box yet, so they had to receive the balls outside the boxes. And then, Aguero, he has two runs to do. The first one, if he goes to the defender and the defender passes the ball back to the goalkeeper, Aguero makes that run as well. So, he forces the keeper to play the ball where we were, obviously we knew we were going to press over there.
“Pep prepared the team for him to run as little as possible, to press, and the rest of us, we were much younger and full of energy, we did it for him.”

🚨🚨🎙️| Jack Grealish to Lionel Messi:
“When I played against Messi [for City vs PSG], it was the first time I saw him play in front of me, so I said to him between the halves: ‘Hello Messi, Guardiola loves you very much’ and he started laughing.’
“So I said to him: ‘Please play with us at City because Guardiola always scolds us and says Messi did this and that. If you come, he will not get angry with us again.’
“He smiled and said to me ‘I understand what you said’ and we exchanged handshakes and he left.”
🚨 Enzo Maresca has already signed a three year deal as Manchester City new manager.
Agreement until June 2029 and new chapter to start soon at #MCFC, with Maresca fully involved in the transfer strategy.
Here we go, 100% confirmed. 💙🆕
I genuinely wanted both Kolo and Lijnders to stay but it is what it is.
Kolo was one of the finest people we've had. He carried out his duties with immense diligence:
1. One‑on‑one tactical drills with players.
2. Boosting morale and motivation.
3. Offering counsel when needed.
4. Constantly showing up for academy fixtures.
5. Working seamlessly alongside Pep and Lijnders.
A man of outstanding character during a transitional season. I won't say much more, I just genuinely want to thank him for what he's done and achieved with us in the one brilliant season he was here.
Go well, Kolo. Wishing you absolutely nothing but the best. 🩵🙏
