The British once tried to silence India with prisons, batons and bullets. Our freedom fighters responded with courage, revolutions and Satyagraha. They endured suffering because they believed that no power should ever take away a nation’s freedom.

Decades after independence, it is heartbreaking to see students detained, young voices met with force, and people facing action for protesting. Even @RahulGandhi Ji, the Leader of the Opposition, has faced police detention.

Congratulations, India. An undeclared Emergency in Delhi? When students fear for their safety and citizens hesitate to speak, we must ask ourselves what freedom truly means.

Behind every student being dragged away is a family waiting anxiously at home. A mother praying for her child. A father hoping their child returns safely. These are not enemies of the nation; they are its future.

The British left, but the spirit of resistance they once tried to crush lives on in every Indian who stands up for justice. Our freedom fighters did not dream of an India where its own children would fear their own government.

Power is temporary. The people are permanent. And democracy means nothing if the voices of its people are not heard. 🇮🇳💔✊
