At the side of every person is a protector the Lord gives to help us, to nudge us to get up when we have stumbled, to show us the way when we have chosen the wrong path. Let us listen to the voice of our #GuardianAngels!
As parents, it's important to help your kids develop healthy eating patterns and encourage physical activity.
Follow these guidelines on how to help kids make better food choices and stay active in fun ways. 🚶😄

@kidseatright A7: Try not to comment on your child’s body in any way. And do the same for yourself- that means no negative comments when you’re in front of the mirror! #KERchat
@kidseatright A6: No. Caffeine has a dose-response effect and the response is exaggerated in kids w/smaller body sizes. It can cause incr anxiety, heart rate, blood pressure & sleep disturbances. And every mom wants their kids (& themselves) to sleep well at night. 💯 #KERchat
@kidseatright A5: Try to eat whole, natural foods more often than processed (&typical “kid” foods). Aim for 3-5 servings fruits/veg each day as a start!#KERchat
@kidseatright A4: Offer a variety of foods in a variety of ways. It takes many times for a child to be comfortable around a certain food. Try to limit grazing in between meals. Have planned meals and snacks so kids are hungry and ready & know when the next meal will be. #kerchat
@kidseatright A3: stronger, muscles and bones, decr. risk of chronic diseases. Try quick YouTube children’s exercise videos - they’re super fun, encourages a little competition & the whole fam can join in. & squeeze in bouts of jumprope, riding scooters, & skating #kerchat
@kidseatright A2: Try to shop sales & use coupons! Get creative with frozen and canned fruit. With canned fruit, drain and rinse the fruit, freeze and blend into a delicious slushy.
@kidseatright A1: Snacks with satiating protein and energizing carbs are great after school snacks. I love milk and pretzels, yogurt, smoothies, crackers, and cheese, and fruit and nuts.
We're kicking off #KidsEatRight Month today with a #KERchat! We'll discuss all things related to food, nutrition, physical activity and health. Please introduce yourself!
We encourage all RDNs and NDTRs to get involved in #KidsEatRight Month! 🙌

In this Season of #Lent, let us exercise interior clarity, placing ourselves before the #WordOfGod in #prayer, so that an advantageous struggle against the evil that enslaves us, a struggle for freedom, may take place within us.
A5: We look up and try different cultural recipes around those holidays. Living in a polyethnic, city center, I love to find a new ingredient and then find a recipe for it. #NNMchat
A4: Try putting out at a portion of food from each food group at each meal. Make up the difference with snacks. It can be just a slice or 2 of fruit but it adds up over the day! #NNMchat
A3: As we age, in general, I need less calories, but still need to maintain or protein intake. With Animal protein, a little goes a long way. Don’t forget 🫘, 🥜, seeds, tofu, & dairy to meet protein needs.#NNMchat
