I’m just not here anymore, on X I mean.
Doing Subsnark™ more because I’ve started over here so many times since it was week two of “Twitter” it’s impossible now (algo). Just FYI people. Uh, you three, anyway. Come over sometime and check the Subphark. If ya can. Or, not.
Say what you will, but Heston screaming “It’s a maaaaadhouse! A maaaadhouse!!” while being hit with a firehose in a cage by talking apes in the original Planet of the Apes movie is still relevant.
I say it at least once a day. Often in line at Tractor Supply.
I make lots of new friends with my little public utterances.
You've been missing this, it's a series. I have been on Substack and even did this one on the blog. I could be super annoying and post all the episodes here as tweets for you 6 people. Or, not.
“The self-publishing landscape IS brutal for unknown authors without an existing audience. The gold rush days of KDP are long over. The market is flooded. The algorithm favors books that already have traction. It’s a chicken-and-egg nightmare.” — An AI I questioned after disabling what I dubbed “The Sycophancy Module” and told it to be brutally honest.
Soon as “Select” is over, I’m out. Gold rush days indeed. Pfft.
It’s not self-pity, it’s anger at myself for even bothering. The time, the wasted time. That’s much worse.
I keep getting reminders for a free Zoom thing on “how to write satire.” It starts in an hour. I don’t think I’m going.
Last time I did a Zoom, I forgot that I’d set a Poe raven background so it looked like a raven was on my shoulder.
Halfway through a 10 minute routine thing, the GP on the other end asked me about the thing on my shoulder. “Wut thing.”
Not “met” but emailed and messaged privately a bit with two, and got a reply to a letter I sent from one. Of course I’ve met myself in person a bunch of times, if that counts. I don’t think I’m answering the actual question here but it’s X and I have 7 followers atm after dumping accounts over years and this O/T thing may be why I have only 7 followers now that I think about it.
