Small market owners are the worst thing about baseball.

There are 11 teams under .500. The entire AL West has a losing record.

If you can't afford to field a winning team, or put in a modicum of effort, you should not be allowed to own one. MLB will have an entire labor dispute based off of the fact that teams like the Marlins want to pocket revenue without putting any effort into the product. The owners of these teams don't care one bit about what happens to this sport in the future.

@GX4600 @oscargeirvin88 @BNightengale It screws the “rank & file” members of the PA, the superstars will always get paid, but as we saw when the NHL initially added their cap, the mid-level guys saw very slow (if any) increase in their deals. We will see many more guys left unsigned into February.
