The TIME Task Force helps promote responder training across the state as part of it's mission. This week, National TIM Responder Training was held in Glynn County for local public works! Glynn County is located in TIM area 3, which covers the southeastern part of the state. We're proud to say that like the TIME Task Force, GDOT's TIM program reaches statewide, from Coastal Georgia to North Georgia. Want to schedule free training near you? Reach out to [email protected].
The TIME Task Force Virtual Q2 meeting is happening THIS month on Thursday, June 25! This meeting will include exciting TIME Task Force updates and initiatives, as well as a guest speaker.
Jim Kelly from the Georgia Department of Public Health will speak on the 55 Driver Safety Program, which provides safety resources for senior drivers and on the Yellow Dot Program, which increases first responders’ ability to help older drivers and those experiencing a medical emergency, if they cannot communicate.
This is a FREE event! Join us by signing up at https://t.co/EufGFlrIxM.
31 children died in 2025 because of vehicular heatstroke. Remember, as we gear up for summer in Georgia, a child’s body temperature rises faster than an adult’s—and even within just 10 minutes, the temperature in a car can rise by 20 degrees. Never leave a child or pet alone in the car, even for a few minutes and with the windows cracked. Learn more at https://t.co/reZQbvJ4cc.

Trivia time! If you’re pulled over on the shoulder of the road waiting for help, where is the safest place to wait?
a) Next to your car
b) On some nearby grass
c) In your car with your seatbelt on
If you chose c), you are more likely to get home safely! Remember, when waiting for roadside assistance, ALWAYS stay in your car with your seatbelt on. Your car acts as a buffer should an oncoming vehicle strike the scene—a much more common occurrence than the average motorist realizes. #stayinyourcar #trafficincidentmanagement #driversafety #atlantatraffic #georgiatraffic

The Bryan County TIM Team held National TIM Responder Training after their meeting last week! Pairing this training with their meeting is a routine occurrence to ensure it’s amply available to their local responders and TIM professionals.
This initiative is especially helpful, as their sheriff’s office mandates National TIM Responder Training for all their deputies, which is an excellent initiative to keep these deputies safe on the roads.
Way to go, Bryan County! This is an outstanding commitment to organizing and improving TIM in your county for motorists, responders, and other professionals alike.
Today on Memorial Day, we honor those who have served our country and laid down their lives to protect our freedom. Our thoughts are with the fallen and the loved ones they left behind.
Last year 33 bicyclists died in crashes on Georgia roads statewide. It was a 26% increase from 2024—a trend that is unfortunately occurring nationwide. Road safety is a collaborative effort for cyclists and drivers. Cyclists can help by wearing a helmet and making sure it fits properly. Drivers can do their part by sharing the road, slowing as they approach cyclists and giving them space along the road. May is National Bicycle Safety Month, so let’s work together to reverse the trend of increasing cyclist deaths. Learn more at https://t.co/3WRY8j1o7V
