Today we signed $1 billion for housing into law – a historic, generational win.

From expanding affordable housing to making homeownership achievable, this bill leads with our values of caring for one another to help ensure all Minnesotans have a safe, stable place to call home.

28 years ago, our community witnessed the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. Today, #WeRemember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever.

With an $18 billion surplus, we have a great opportunity to support working families by making long-term investments in housing.

172,000 Minnesotans are struggling w/ rent, but they’re on a waitlist for Sec. 8 vouchers. We need #BringItHomeMN. Why it’s my #1 budget priority: 🧵

“I am diabetic, and I was having to live out of my car, homeless. Once I was in an apartment I could afford, my life changed. My grandchildren can now visit me in my own place. Vouchers will ensure no one else has to go thru this.” ~Linda, housing advocate with @AeonMN

Idk who operates the live stream of committee meetings for the @MNHouseInfo, but there’s this cool feature where when a legislator mentions their education or background - they roll their credentials on a ticker at the bottom of the screen. It’s very cool, and I appreciate it.

[Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan @LtGovFlanagan]

The need for housing in Minnesota is real. Through our One Minnesota Budget, we’re making a historic $1.6 billion investment in housing accessibility and stability to help ensure every Minnesota family, in every neighborhood, has access to safe, accessible and affordable housing.

On Tuesday an Aeon resident, Jurline, testified at the legislature to support @BringItHomeMN. Jurline experienced homelessness. Today she's a few classes from a master's degree. Her housing voucher made it possible. Watch her testimony starting at 15:00 https://t.co/anLWYinczj
