Today we travelled back in time to the 1950s! We explored games and toys that children played with in the 50s, including tiddly winks, dominos, marbles and of course some table top spinners (these were definitely favourites)!

We had a fantastic Art lesson on Friday! We experimented with using mark making inspired by the shapes seen in Picasso’s work by using oil pastels and a water colour wash. The children are now experts in cold and warm colours! @TownvilleIS @MrsBurden10

In Maths this week we have been exploring how count objects more efficiently by making groups of ten! It was great to see the children working together to help each other build and count tens! @TownvilleIS @TISWillowClass

We had a very exciting morning investigating a crime scene in our KS1 English ‘hook’ lesson! Our furry victims even left a little surprise for us to taste…can you guess which traditional tale we are learning about this term? @TownvilleIS @MrsBurden10

We have reached the end of our first week! This week we have been engineers building Lego spaceships for Mae Jemison, magical mathematicians exploring teen numbers and astounding artists drawing self-portraits! @TownvilleIS @MrsBurden10 @MrsWray5

We have had a fabulous start to the new school year! Yesterday we launched our Primary Futures Topic with a visit from a surgeon, a scientist and a nurse, and today we are dressed up as our dream job! @TownvilleIS @MrsBurden10

Science Day! We learnt all about Dr Mya-Rose Craig @BirdgirlUK and discussed what we already knew about birds! We then went outside and observed how many birds we saw in 2 minutes. We made bird feeders and put them outside to see if we could attract more! @TownvilleIS

This half term we have been working on our accuracy skills, learning to play New Age Kurling! We have been practicing passing the stone onto the target! 🎯 @TownvilleIS
