Today is Easter Sunday AND my ‘spiritual’ birthday.
I was ‘born again’ on 5 April 1981.
So a double reason to celebrate new life - Jesus is risen + 45 years of me being a Christian.
The Bible verse preached on 5/4/81 was Isaiah 35:8
The picture brings the 2 occasions together.
@AdamMerrivale Not this year.
Michael Prest and Mark Newham from UFM worldwide plus Mike C (already replied) but in his Cor Deo capacity.
The app will list all attendees. Worth trawling through and making contact with people via it.
Became a Christian 44 yrs ago
Is 35:8 was the Bible verse preached.
A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray.
Where do you start in trying to convey the unique and incredible experience of #crosscon25
The bottom picture shows a fraction of those attending.
The top shows a snapshot of the almost non-stop meaningful conversations about global mission.
A real privilege to be representing @ufmworldwide at #CrossCon25
Just leaving Heathrow with 80kg of luggage (64kg is literature and publicity!!)
If you’re there and want to chat to an English man, then come and visit our exhibition stand
The task is not yet done.
Global mission starts with the local church, which is why we are partnering with Union Sheffield to help churches think about their role in cross-cultural mission.

Mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary celebration (although they have to survive just under 3 weeks to make it to the actual day!!).
All the Howletts were able to be present (which is a slightly larger group than when all the Howletts gathered at Christmas!!)
A tremendous privilege of my work with @ufmworldwide is the occasional visit to see mission partners.
This weekend is visiting some involved in church planting in Paris.
One downside - another Sunday away from my home church, but Alison will be there on Sunday school duty!!
@BriWhittaker@NotThatRBaxter@BeachMissions run open air mission weeks. We aim to be winsome, non shouty, focus on the Gospel. As well as preaching we do book tables, “question of the day” (v. effective) & get into personal conversation.
I’m biased but they’re great opprtnties & hopefully model OA work well
4 generations of Howetts from 83 years to 6 days.
My parents with their ...
… 4 children
… 2 daughters-in-law and 1 son-in-law
… 6 grandchildren
… 3 granddaughers-in-law
… 7 great grandchildren (my grandchildren!)
Quite rare to all be together these days!
Coral anniversary - 35 yrs of Mr & Mrs H.
With a swap of the vowels, today is sorted.
Alison deserves to be taken to a couple of carol services!
Anyway, very grateful. Worth quoting a favourite Bible verse: “The Lord is good to all and his tender mercies are over all His works”
Sometimes a little “sermon outline” naturally pops out from a daily quiet time. The phrase “wondrous works” (ie God’s) merited a bit more of an explore and here are 4 things to do with them!!

.... it is all about Him and this helped us give Him the glory
3) Connect: to hear your own voice and that of others is what hymn singing is! Obviously my own opinion but sometimes/often/occasionally that is not the case!!
Thanks to all at @theFIEC
3 reasons why I, with many others, found this at @theFIEC conference a highlight
1) Content: the words are familiar but always moving. Plus working for a mission agency the 3rd verse we sang is motivational
2) Context: We were giving thanks (rightly) for 2 FIEC staff but ..

Who His love will not remember? Who can cease to sing His praise? He can never be forgotten, Throughout heav’n’s eternal days.
