Due to be in town 12-2pm today, sharing the gospel through literature, conversation, and preaching.
Please pray
-We'd be full of grace and truth
-God's Spirit should enable people to hear spiritual truth
-This would not put people off 👇
(I think the resources they point to will be great, btw. This isn't meant to be shade at the Good Book Co. I simply think we need to be careful, especially in polarised times, not to suggest that love is an add-on to the essentials of Christian thinking and living)
"Think truthfully & lovingly this Pride month" would be a better way to express it imo
If you're not thinking lovingly you're not actually thinking biblically
To be biblical is to be full of grace AND truth in the way we think, speak, & act. Just like the Bible's Main Character
According to Jesus not every interpretation of Scripture or commentary upon Scripture is valid.
This is true whether the tradition is ancient and venerable or fresh and new.
(Mark 7:9)
"Je le pansai, Dieu le guérit" ("I bandaged him and God healed him").
- Ambroise Paré (military surgeon widely credited with the foundational design of modern functional prosthetics)
Different types of Christians are often tempted to focus only on one or the other of these; either retreating from the world for the sake of purity or loving the world at the expense of honest.
Our Father calls us to Both/And, not Either/Or.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
- James 1:27

@DuncanHollands Recording this video for a church youth group was what got me thinking about the themes of the first half of the book, so it might be helpful
