@EngRugbyDebate If Borthwick is picking, it’ll be Curry, Underhill & Pepper but I think I’ll be another lock as Itoje & Martin will need game time limiting.
I’d go Ted Hill. He’d be my starting 7. I’d have Harding & Illione in my squad.
@RucksSake Freeman & Feyi-Waboso should start. Roebuck at 15. Atkinson & Lawrence at centre. Add Van Rensberg, Ojomoh & Marchant in midfield with Radwan, Caluori & Furbank as backup for the back three. I wouldn’t look at Daly, Arundell or Murley.
@EngRugbyDebate Here’s my squad mate. Dropping Genge & Itoje, wrong mindset. Iyogun & Fisilau will add dynamism. LCD & Davidson dropped as not making impact. Earl (c).
Spencer too slow last week, so I’d go Quirke. Need Ojomoh & don’t think we need another 10, if Furbank gets the nod over Daly.
@EngRugbyDebate question for you.
I do rate Pollock, but I think the likes of Fisilau, Ted Hill, Pearson & Illione are more physical and, all things considered, probably offer more.
Do you think Pollock has been promoted too early?
@EngRugbyDebate Good point, Definitely. There’ll be some shocks. Like at scrum half, one of Mitchell, Spencer, JVP & Quirke has to be left out. Fascinating 20 months.
@EngRugbyDebate Challenge for you. I’ve produced two England squads of 33 (including starting XV) one based on players from the prem clubs in the west, the other from the east. Would you want to do your picks and we can x reference?
@EngRugbyDebate This was my effort. XV, bench & squad. Very similar sides picked. I had Steward, Hendy & Martin for the east with Quirke, OFJ & Richards for the west. Amazing that both squads would do a job.
@RucksSake Agree. Given how his back row are all essentially 7’s, including injured B Curry, having CCS & Ted Hill as locks would add ball carriers who have pace. Ewels isn’t that. Bamber or Richards I could see. But was expecting CCS.
@RugbyLatestNewz@EnglandRugby@QuilterNations@O2 Dropped imo. Stuart was on the bench last week. He’d be undercooked to start next week. Underhill & Ford possibly wider rotation and managed.
Couple observations from the Sale game:
- the decision to sack Diamond looks predictably appalling, they look awful.
- Mafi for Newcastle looks a player, I’d be looking at him as an option for Tigers next year
- I’m massively impressed with tonight’s ref, manages a game well.
