A new report claims a Static Shock film is still in development.

Variety's Jennifer Maas states, "A feature film based on Milestone’s Static Shock character is currently in development."

It was previously announced by Reginald Hudlin that a Static Shock movie was in development back in 2020 at DC Fandome.

Back in 2025, James Gunn shared a status update, "No updates on Static Shock. There’s a whole bunch of complexities behind that character right now so I don’t have good news for you on Static Shock."
