@yorkuniversity UIT It is NOT acceptable to have non-functional classroom computers/hookups, etc. AND instructor shouldn’t get a shoulder shrug that “it just doesn’t work with Macs”. B/c it’s not just Macs; PC laptops don’t work as well. Our students deserve better. FIX IT.

While I'm a fan of test-less assessment, sometimes we don't have a choice, in which case we need to at least make them better! 2-stage exams and the public exam (https://t.co/pOoND2FtHZ) are some alternatives. (Combine them? The 2-stage public exam?!)

@TRyanGregory @uofg I agree! Science, in particular, really needs to consider more authentic assessments. This means that admin has to support instructors in this endeavour. 500 person classes with a handful of TAs (if that!) is not a model for LEARNING.
