Concerned a touch for Southend. Hartigan and Oldaker are good signings; but feel they have gone backwards in terms of having a National League promotion ready squad. I wonder how much time KD will be afforded.
This situation reminds me of Danny Webb at Yeovil last year.
Have sympathy for the hierarchy at Woking as it feels like this is more a change of heart from JD, but the lack of detail in the announcement was bound to rile fans.

@Cardinal27@Love_non_league Of the vast number of triallist, I did not choose one. Not one. Jermain led all recruitment and all triallists. All Jermain’s contacts, all linked to him. Every single one. Empty promises? We gave everything that was asked. Everything. I’m sure it’ll all come out in due course.
@Dukey_3006@MartynSHall I’m surprised you guys didn’t see Sarll as a good fit. From the outside looking in, he built the best team I’ve seen from Woking in many a year.
@JeffStelling Nearly every club in the National League would take him - there must be something more to it. My guess would be agent advice to bide time and hope that certain clubs become more desperate for a number 1.
@Jaimundo_ESX@SimplyShrimpers Oh for sure - I still expect Southend to be up there to some degree. My concern is mainly in the context that if you sack a manager who has just done back to back play-off finishes - I’d imagine the remit this year is to be in a title race at the least.
I think a lot of the signings outside of DO & AH, are big risks; Kamara, Popoola and Colclough for different reasons. Twamley I’ve seen a lot of up close - I worry about his ability to effect games in this league like he could in the NLN, particularly for a team wanting to be challenging for promotion. On paper, you’re weaker in goal and definitely upfront. Lastly, a lot of the players moved on/let go (Bridge, Morton, Gubbins, Spasov, Ralph etc) although maybe not constant starters, were very good depth for the level, and difficult to replace quickly. All with a new manager. Just my feeling that there may be a drop off this season. I hope to be proved wrong; Southend are an EFL club.
