First draft of pedagogy knowledge organisers that I’ve put together to ensure that mentors, trainees and staff have a common foundation of knowledge and understanding.
It links to clear strategies, questions to ask to facilitate coaching conversations and links to research.
"When pupils are explicitly taught to plan and monitor their writing, they begin to approach writing with more purpose and confidence."

Okay, so this is my first effort at a 'hook' using story. I wrote it to see if I can try and emulate the great work being done by @Counsell_C and Steve Mastin, whose talks on stories I was greatly pleased to attend last weekend. Let's see how it goes! #historyteacher
Looking for some ideas and advice please Edutwitter: how do you push your most able students? And how do you support students with the jump from grade 6/7 to 8/9? I'm thinking both in lessons and through home learning. All ideas welcome! Please feel free to follow/retweet!
If you were to focus on improving disciplinary literacy across school, what would your three go to areas/strategies that you could include for:
1) Reading
2) Writing
3) Oracy
What has the most leverage?
Yr 10 did their first medicine key people icon drills today

Students then flip it over and test each other by forming verbal answers. They smashed it!

This simple little task gives the pupils an overview of gender, class and political issues surrounding the campaign for women’s suffrage #historyteacher
4 mark questions can get neglected when trying to nail the 12/16 markers. Inspired by the recent feedback posts of @MrThorntonTeach and @MissHensonHist I’ve put together a format that is quickly marked, key criteria is identifiable and space for a WAGOLL example. #historyteacher
Thrilled to speak at the @PiXLclub#pixlHistory conference. Here is the updated example of my marginal gains sheet & my assessment feedback sheet. Both available in my google drive link pinned to my tweet.
I wanted a task to help students measure the significance of factors. The ‘higher or lower’ visual format, adaptable for all content/KeyStages allows pupils to judge each factor to the previous and then choose the one they consider the overall most significant. #historyteacher
