The @BritishCouncil has enabled hundreds of thousands of people from all backgrounds in the UK to see the world, learn new skills, discover new markets and improve their lives #whathastheBritishCouncildoneforus
So even though the @BritishCouncil costs the UK taxpayer around 5p a week and brings enormous economic benefit to the UK, it's reportedly under threat of closing if the UK government abandons it. Why save it? What has the British Council ever done for us? I'll start:
