They said this all the time! The American establishment was always highly proud of the international order they built. This here is the worldview you develop when you get all your information about political opponents from what gets attention on social media.

It's more accurate that boys grow up socialised to assume that girls are basically emotionally similar to them and then learn the hard way that isn't the case
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Yeah, and notice how that possibility is completely and totally ignored in all situations for no apparent reason besides “obviously men are never treated worse than women”.
Notice how I’m not ignoring evidence that I’m wrong because the entire question has gone unasked.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Link? Cause I really haven’t. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been said but not commonly.
And it’s pretty crazy still—“maybe therapists are worse with men for reasons that are out of their control” isn’t really what I’m looking for.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta I mean, yeah, it’s more complicated than I can explain in a Twitter comment, “30 seconds” is hyperbole.
But these are, like, solvable problems. Or you can just add a disclaimer to the study. It doesn’t explain the total absence of studies even looking at it.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Cool, where’s the study that shows that? I don’t see any studies that ask the question “do therapists treat men worse”, that’s more my problem.
Even “therapists are better equipped to handle women” isn’t an explanation I’ve seen. This is actually the first time you’ve said it.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Why not? That study would take like 30 seconds to make. “We gave a bunch of men and a bunch of women a script to talk about their problems and compared the way therapists respond.”
There’s a million of these studies for women’s problems.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta I don’t know why you keep posting that screenshot. It sure as fuck is not actually comparing the way therapists treat men versus women, cause the study didn’t actually look into that.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Yeah, I looked heavily into these concepts and realized they were problematic. Notice how you aren’t posting any studies that actually compare the way therapists treat men versus women, because they don’t exist.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Literally the first thing I said is that there are no studies about whether or not therapists treat men worse. I only added the study afterwards with a caveat that it didn’t even ask that question.

@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta I mean, how would evidence for that exist? That would require someone actually doing a study, which there are basically zero. Gee, men are doing worse in therapy and no one is even asking the question “are men being treated worse”, just jumping right to blaming men.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta The study doesn’t really show that though. That’s not really backed up in the data at all—not necessarily meaning it’s not true, but the way they interpret the evidence doesn’t really line up with the evidence.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Cause it’s the only study I’ve ever found that even has an open ended question about why men leave, rather than instantly asking why masculinity makes men leave. And even then they only kind of accidentally did that.
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta It does go back to my earlier statement—why aren’t there any studies about how therapists treat men and women differently? Shouldn’t that be the very first question that’s asked?
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Cool, when is the follow-up study? Or better yet, where’s the study about whether or not men are more correct to think their therapists care about them less?
The total lack of even considering that maybe men are mistreated is the problem!
@mcldefender@ReactionBlocked@yuriokuno@wifeguyyuta Doesn’t that stand out as a red flag? “It’s possible that this evidence that indicates against our beliefs could possibly be interpreted in line with those beliefs” why are they not asking the obvious question?
