This is the wildest World Cup story yet. If someone in Toronto sells a ticket above face value they get fined $25,000 yet the city of Toronto bought 3,500 World Cup tickets early and then sold them to taxpayers at a markup as a “revenue generation strategy.” What the hell man.
“For more than a decade, Canada has distinguished itself by being the only G7 country in which the head of government cannot safely live in their official residence because it is so dilapidated.” — @spaikin https://t.co/EIaonldDsR
As someone actively involved in trying to attract foreign investment to Canada, I’d like to think we can rely on our police, our securities regulators and our courts to be transparent and above board. This is yet another instance that raises serious concerns.

Boom! John Ibbitson "Well, they are an angry people and they have every reason to be angry."
"From the time the provinces were founded, when Albertans, Saskatchewan, were not given the natural resources powers that other provinces had, to the latest regulation from Ottawa limiting the development of the oil sands for environmental or other reasons, Albertans have been put upon by a central Canadian elite, looks at them as something of a colony."
"And the result of that indifference and condescension from central Canada is this referendum on a referendum. We're responsible for that here in the center." @JohnIbbitson
Someone who daily facilitated Wilkinson's environmental extremism as his COS would not be a "real coup." Everything that office did - the carbon tax and caps on the oil and gas sector - hurt our energy sector and were later overturned by Carney. Pass.
It was my great honour to host such an accomplished group of Conservative leaders who governed at such different times, with different context and issues - but all who focused on principled conservatism, sound fiscal management and growing our economy for the betterment of all. Our current and future leaders can learn a great deal from these four!
A standout panel at CSFN Ottawa 2026: Canada's Premiers on a Cross-Country Check Up.
Hon. Heather Stefanson, Hon. Gordon Campbell, Hon. Mike Harris, and Hon. Blaine Higgs with moderator Brett James (Worldview Advisory) for an honest conversation about their wins, the fights they wish they had finished, and the lessons they would pass to the leaders coming next.

"The opportunities in the area will extend well beyond Maritime Launch itself. Many of our clients, suppliers, and contractors are already looking to establish their own facilities on or near the Spaceport. Over time, this will help stimulate a broader space ecosystem, with the Spaceport acting as the anchor that brings it all together." $MAXQ $MAXQF

In just five months, Nova Scotia has gone from talking about our energy potential to taking real steps to unlock it, guided by research and science, done safely and responsibly.
✅ In December 2025, we partnered with Dalhousie University on a $30 million research program to better understand our resources and how to develop them safely.
✅ In February, we signed an agreement with Massachusetts to explore supplying excess clean offshore wind energy.
✅ That same month, we introduced the Powering the Economy Act. The federal government also agreed to a regional assessment for offshore oil and natural gas exploration. The market took notice.
✅ In March, Hydro-Québec began assessing Nova Scotia’s offshore wind transmission potential. We also secured a federal agreement to streamline environmental approvals for major projects.
✅ In April, the Powering the Economy Act became law.
✅ And now, Inceptio Oil and Gas, led by Nova Scotian James Edens, has stepped forward more than $210 million for offshore exploration.
Research. Partnerships. Legislation. Market validation. Regulatory reform. Real results.
Each step built on the last.
For too long, Nova Scotia watched others move ahead while our opportunities sat on hold. Our government is taking action.
🇨🇦 Sovereign launch is about far more than rockets. Spaceports are critical national infrastructure that support security, resilience, innovation, and economic growth.
Our VP of Spaceport Operations, Melissa Quinn, presented at the Canadian Space Launch Conference today. Her message was clear: Canada must build sovereign access to space. That means understanding the challenges ahead, addressing both internal and external pressures, and building the infrastructure needed to support a prosperous and secure future.
Canada’s future in space depends on the infrastructure we build today. #CanadainSpace #LaunchtheNorth
Brady Tkachuk could walk up to that podium, sign a lifetime contract with Staios, take a blood oath with the Mayor, while wearing the blue and green City of Ottawa flag, eating a shawarma plate AND a Beavertail... and people would still be like... Does he WANT to be in OTTAWA????
4 Potential Landing Spots For Brady Tkachuk This Offseason:
1. The park with his wife and kids
2. The backyard with his wife and kids
3. The pool with his wife and kids
4. BBQ with his wife and kids
And then back to Ottawa for another season as Captain of the Ottawa Senators.
PSA for Sens fans: commenting, retweeting and engaging with Brady trade rumours is exactly what they want.
The more outrageous the mock trade and discussion is, the more desperate they are for attention.
I think the best plan of action is just ignore it all
