We would like to congratulate manager Matt Aplin and all the team on their success.
Didcot Town veterans moved a step closer to the Hellenic Veterans Premier Division title with a narrow win against Thame United at the Loop Meadow Stadium this evening.
Jack King scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for the railwayvets, who owe much to goalkeeper Roland Pacey, who produced a stunning save in the final moments of the game to ensure another three points.
Penn and Tylers Green are the railwayvets only challengers for the title, with the Buckinghamshire side thirteen points behind Didcot with five games remaining. Penn and Tylers Green are in action tomorrow night when they welcome Icarus Masters.
Didcot have two league games remaining, both at the Loop Meadow Stadium, starting with the visit of Rotherfield United on the 15th April.
Penn and Tylers Green are the final visitors to the Loop on the 22nd of April.
Didcot Town veterans booked their place in the Hellenic Veterans League Cup final with a narrow 3-2 win against Penn & Tylers Green at the Loop Meadow Stadium.
Didcot came from behind to book their place in the final in a topsy-turvy game that saw them come from behind to win, in a game that saw both sides score from the penalty spot.
Penn & Tyler took the lead in the first half from the penalty spot.
Alan Bertram and Tom Butler then put the railwayvets ahead, and the tie looked to be all over as a contest when Jack King scored a third from the penalty spot.
Penn & Tyler scored with just three minutes remaining to set up a nervy finish, and despite the visitors having one last chance from a free kick, the referee blew his whistle soon after Didcot had cleared the free kick over the bar.
Didcot will face Goring United or Thame United in the final.
The final will take place at Thame United on a date yet to be set.
Didcot Town veterans fought back to earn a point at Faringdon Town.
Didcot found themselves 1-0 down at the break, but a second-half Tom Butler goal ensured the railwayvets maintained their unbeaten start to the season, winning two and drawing two of their first four games.
The old boys are now without a league game until they welcome Icarus Masters on the 5th November.
